The Deck
The Living Altar Oracle Deck is a guide to The Witches Wheel and is intended to serve as both a tutelary and divinatory aide. You are welcomed to use each card as a focal point for your spell crafting and meditations, as well as an aid in skill set development. T he deck invokes the Witches Wheel of the Year by following three relational arcs.
The first tier of the deck is our relationship to the Cosmic Source which embodies the universal principles of magic. This narrative arc includes the spells of Surrender, the elemental power of Earth, Air, Fire, and Water, the Phases of the Moon, the Stations of the Sun, and the Seasons.
The second tier of the deck represents the Cosmic Relationship of Source to us, and embodies the universal journey from birth to death and the Divine Interventions we are blessed with along the way. This narrative arc includes the spells of Rebirth & Emergence, Childhood & Promise, Adolescence & Catalyst, Young Adult & Celebration, Adult & Abundance, Midlife & Generosity, Elderhood & Soul Harvest, Death & Solitude.
The third tier of the deck represents our Cosmic Embodiment of Source and invokes the intimacy of Source experienced in our daily lives. The narrative arc of this tier follows the relationship of the elements with one another; embodying the dance of each element within and through all of the elements. the Air of Air, the Fire of Air, the Water of Air, the Earth of Air and so on for each of the elements.
Additionally, there are 14 Spell Cards in the deck intended to be used to focus your intentions. These cards embody the raw and living essence of the Witch's Altar and are built from the ritualised collages we crafted while invoking the spells for each of the oracle cards. We chose to isolate the collages for use in your spell crafting as a means of nurturing your creativity and empowering your altars.
The Creators
The Living Altar is co-created by Ylva Mara Radzisewski and Kiki Robinson, and began in December 2017. They say: "With this deck we have built an altar of the seasons, the phases of the moon, the stations of the sun, the journey of life, and have made a holy embodiment of our most sacred relationship with the elements. As queer, femme witches, and descendants of diaspora, we seek to embody a faithless devotion. The work of the Witch is to disrupt. Our commitment is to embolden the integrity, power, grace, and will of radical witchcraft. We see the work of the modern witch to account for, divest from, and dismantle settler-colonialism, cis/het normativity, white supremacy, and systemic kyriarchal oppression from our altars and our magics. The Living Altar focuses our rituals on the empowerment of those these systems seek to erase and destroy."

1. Jamie - 2/5 stars - I was really excited to get the "Isolated Witch Oracle" deck as I am a big fan of witchcraft and divination. However, I was highly disappointed with the quality of the cards themselves. They felt flimsy and cheap, and some of the edges were already starting to chip when I opened the deck for the first time. Additionally, the artwork on the cards was not as vibrant and detailed as I had hoped. Overall, I expected a higher quality product for the price I paid.
2. Sarah - 2/5 stars - I found the "Isolated Witch Oracle" to be quite underwhelming. While the concept and theme intrigued me, the execution fell short. The guidebook that came with the deck lacked depth and explanation for the symbols and meanings of the cards. As a beginner, I was hoping for more guidance and interpretation, but I was left feeling confused and disconnected from the readings. The cards themselves were a bit too simplistic for my taste, and I didn't feel a strong connection to the artwork or the messages conveyed. I was left wanting more from this oracle deck.
