Reviews Overall

Nice to see it here

Reviewed at: Chapter 3: Restless Nights

I'm reading this story in another website and I really like it. I was expecting more cliche developments after reading first chapter, but the twists and turns keep surprising me. I like the moral dilemmas mc goes through a lot. And the grammer is great. I would recommend it to anyone looking for something new to read.

Really enjoyable

Reviewed at: Chapter 11: Chicken Coop

I think it makes it clear how much I enjoyed this story that I blasted through the available chapters here in double-quick time. It is a really enjoyable and well told tale that manages to lean into the established genre tropes in an effective way, whilst also moving into some new directions.

The main character is extremely likeable - which is not always the case in this sort of novel! Their development is well plotted thus far and there is a good use of 'Crystal' to provide appropriate infodump without it ever feeling arch or unnecessary. The reader connects with her sensibly and we are able to improve our own understanding of the world through her own developing appreciation for things.

The style here is very pleasant. The dialogue, in particular, is a strength and I like the way in which the supporting cast of background characters all feel sensibly realised, even if they only appear for a short period of time. There are some very effectively done descriptive sections, too, which demonstrate a depth to the world-building. Likewise, the grammar is tight and effective. No issues in reading through this in one sitting and feeling fully engaged.

Overall, absolutely a novel you should add to your reading list.

Slow burn Fantasy with strange connotations

Reviewed at: Chapter 13: Faith and Magic

TLDR: Slow-burn fantasy story with a good storyline and decent characters. Hopefully, there will be more character development down the line. Looking forward to the development of the story.

STYLE: The style of this story is well-written and consistent throughout the existing chapters.

STORY: The story follows Lila and Crystal, a girl and a literal crystal, on the (thus far) beginning of their adventures. With the direction that things seem to be heading, this looks like it will shape up into a fun little story! The one-star deduction is because calling this story 'slow burn' is a bit of an understatement. I appreciate all the details and information we are getting, but it is rather slow.

GRAMMAR: The grammar in the story is good. The only issue I had with it is that the formatting of some things, like the inclusion of extra line breaks and other minor formatting issues, made this story difficult to read on PC. When I switched to mobile, however, it looked much better.

CHARACTERS: The characters, or at least the main characters, are Lila and Crystal. Crystal is a bit of an enigma, which, given what little we know, is to be expected. However, Lila is a bit of a letdown. She is prone to emotional outbursts, but that is the only kind of tonal inflection we get with her. She has had several things happen that, in my opinion, should have had more of an emotional/visceral impact on her. I look forward to seeing how this character will grow.

OTHER: Overall, this is a good story and a quick read (at the 13-chapter mark at least.) If you have an hour or two to spare I highly recommend this story.

Illinois Magic Soccer believes in the power of sports to unite people and create positive change. Overall, Illinois Magic Soccer strives to create a family-like atmosphere where players can develop their skills, forge lifelong friendships, and foster a love for the game of soccer. The club's dedication to player development and community involvement sets it apart as a leader in youth soccer in Illinois..

Reviews for "Illinois Soccer: Where Dreams Become Magic"

1. Sarah - 2 stars - I was really disappointed with Illinois magic soccer. The performances lacked energy and enthusiasm, and it felt like the players were just going through the motions. The choreography was also quite sloppy, with mistimed jumps and uncoordinated movements. I was expecting a thrilling and dynamic show, but ended up feeling bored and unimpressed. The show definitely did not meet my expectations.
2. John - 1 star - Illinois magic soccer was a complete waste of time and money. The tricks performed by the players were underwhelming and lacked any wow factor. The whole show felt disjointed and lacked a cohesive narrative. Additionally, the ticket prices were way too expensive for the quality of entertainment provided. I would not recommend this show to anyone, as there are definitely better options out there.
3. Emily - 2 stars - I attended Illinois magic soccer with high hopes, but unfortunately, it fell short of my expectations. The magic tricks performed were quite basic and lacked any originality. The soccer aspect of the show felt forced and didn't add much to the overall performance. The production value was also quite low, with minimal set design and lackluster costumes. Overall, I was unimpressed and wouldn't really recommend this show to others.
