Remember the witch's hat? Children's playground ride banned 30 years ago for being too dangerous is set for a comeback in the in the place where it was invented

It's a scene which has long been consigned to the pages of history by overzealous health and safety officials. The witch's hat – one of Britain's best-loved rides – disappeared from playgrounds 30 years ago over concerns it was too dangerous for children. But now it is set for a comeback – in the place it was invented almost 100 years ago and from where the last example disappeared in the mid-1980s.

A modified version of the ride – which is correctly known as the ocean wave – has been installed at Wicksteed Park in Kettering, Northamptonshire. The conical swing is balanced on a central pole which wobbles unpredictably. But whereas the original rides 'had a high risk of inflicting lethal injury' – according to a 2011 report by the Children's Play Advisory Service – the new version has a mechanism which keeps the ride spinning but prevents crushing into the pole. And in case a child should take a tumble, soft flooring has been placed beneath the ride to cushion their fall.

As trick-or-treaters approach your home, the Home Depot Witch on a Broom will come to life, cackling and moving her broom from side to side. This added interactive element is sure to impress both young and old alike, creating a memorable Halloween experience for all. Setting up the Home Depot Witch on a Broom is quick and easy.

Reviews for "Bring Your Halloween Dreams to Life: Building a Home Depot Witch on a Broom"

1. George - 1 star - I was thoroughly disappointed with the "Home Depot Witch on a Broom" product. First of all, the broom was flimsy and felt like it was going to break any minute. The witch itself was poorly made and looked nothing like the picture shown on the packaging. The materials used were cheap and easily tore. Overall, I would not recommend this product to anyone looking for a decent quality Halloween decoration.
2. Sarah - 2 stars - I had high hopes for the "Home Depot Witch on a Broom", but unfortunately, it fell short of my expectations. The broom was too short and looked out of proportion with the witch. The design of the witch was also lackluster and lacked details. It simply didn't have the wow factor I was expecting. For the price I paid, I would have hoped for better quality and a more visually appealing decoration.
3. David - 2 stars - I bought the "Home Depot Witch on a Broom" as a centerpiece for my Halloween display, but it turned out to be a huge disappointment. The broom was poorly constructed and the witch had a cheap plastic feel to it. The colors were dull and faded, making it look less impressive in person than it did online. It may be an affordable option, but the lack of quality is evident. I regret purchasing this product and would not recommend it to others.
4. Jessica - 1 star - The "Home Depot Witch on a Broom" was a complete waste of money. The broom snapped in half as soon as I tried to prop it up, and the witch itself had a strange, unpleasant odor. The whole thing looked incredibly cheap and flimsy. I would advise anyone considering this product to look elsewhere for a better-quality Halloween decoration. Don't be fooled by the low price, it's not worth it.
5. Ryan - 2 stars - As someone who loves decorating for Halloween, I was excited to try the "Home Depot Witch on a Broom". However, upon receiving the product, I was immediately disappointed. The broom was poorly crafted and the witch lacked any sort of intricate details. The colors were dull and faded, making it look like a cheap knockoff rather than a high-quality Halloween decoration. Save your money and invest in something better.
