A film based on South American folklore about a female one legged vampire that hunts unfaithful men surely should be a recipe for a decent film- not the case here. I'll give credit the atmosphere is descent and the concept behind La Patasola is cool. Everything else not so much. This film was just boring with nothing interesting or scary happening in most of the runtime and when something scary did happen it was underwhelming. Not helping was the characters ranged from bland to downright unlikable. The film also had jokes thrown in negating any possible dread; I kid you not right after the opening credits the film had a character ranting about feminists. 😒 La Patasola is a monster that deserves a better movie than this.
