Dark Magic is an urban paranormal fantasy. An interesting paranormal world coexists with the human one and is run by a court of entities that include Primrose, the Goddess of Death, and, surprisingly, the Grimm brothers. Like Death, Fate, Destiny, and other concepts take on human-like forms.
As a fan of kickass female leads, I immediately took a liking to Primrose. She is a strong-willed character. Her self-confidence can sometimes border on arrogance, but there are glimpses of vulnerability when she is with certain individuals. There is a bit of romance between Primrose and Atlas, but I wish there had been more chemistry.
The story is very plot-driven, jumping from one event to the next. Multiple plotlines center around Primrose. Just as Primrose is trying to hunt down Lucifer, someone other than Lucifer seems to be hunting her. While there was a lot of action, which I liked, it was sometimes difficult to follow what was happening when chapters jumped from one event to the next.
Overall, this is the beginning of an interesting series with a strong female lead. I liked that it was action-packed, but I am partial to character-driven stories. I would have liked to see more character growth here. Fans of paranormal reads with plot-driven stories may enjoy this one

1. Jessica - 2/5 stars - I must say, I was quite disappointed with "Glinda the Good Witch of the North." The storyline was predictable and lacked depth. The characters felt one-dimensional and lacked development. It felt like the author was simply trying to ride on the popularity of "The Wizard of Oz" without putting in much effort to create a unique and engaging story. Overall, I found it to be a dull and forgettable read.
2. David - 3/5 stars - While "Glinda the Good Witch of the North" had its moments, I can't help but feel that it fell short of its potential. The writing style was decent, but the pacing was uneven. There were moments of excitement, but they were overshadowed by lengthy periods of stagnation. Additionally, the plot seemed disjointed and lacked a clear direction. Overall, it was an average book that could have been much better with stronger storyline and pacing.
3. Sarah - 2/5 stars - Unfortunately, "Glinda the Good Witch of the North" failed to captivate me. The characters were uninteresting, and I struggled to connect with any of them. The dialogue felt forced and unnatural, making it difficult to immerse myself in the story. The ending was underwhelming and left many loose ends unresolved. Overall, it was a lackluster read that I wouldn't recommend to others.
4. Michael - 1/5 stars - "Glinda the Good Witch of the North" was a complete waste of my time. The writing was dull and uninspiring, and the plot was predictable from start to finish. The characters lacked depth and failed to evoke any emotion in me. It felt like a shallow attempt to capitalize on the success of "The Wizard of Oz" without any originality or creativity. I regret picking up this book and would not recommend it to anyone.
