As a scholar who works on myth and poetry from ancient Greece – and as a native of New England – I have long been fascinated by the cultural conversations about witches. Witch trials in the Americas and Europe were in part about enforcing power structures and persecuting the weak. From ancient Greece through Puritan New England, witches functioned as easy targets for cultural anxieties about gender, power and mortality.

1. Emily - 1 star - I was really disappointed with the Fao schwars ultimate magic set. The tricks included were very basic and not impressive at all. The props also felt cheap and poorly made. I tried performing some of the tricks for my friends, but they were not fooled at all. Overall, I think this set is not worth the money and I would not recommend it to anyone looking for a quality magic set.

The tricks were difficult to understand and the instructions provided were not clear enough. We had to watch YouTube tutorials to figure out how to perform some of the tricks properly. Additionally, some of the props broke after just a few uses. This set was a letdown and I regret buying it.
