The horror elements of 'The Witch' are surprisingly effective, as are the (low budget, of course) special effects. The film made me feel uncomfortable on a fair few occasions across the 71 minute run time. However, sadly, that's all the positives I have for it.
Its characters aren't strong enough, neither is the convoluted story. As for the acting, it's passable but again not really up to the standard that it alleviates any of the issues that I have with the film unfortunately. I wanted to come away from watching it by saying that I enjoyed it, because I so very nearly did, but I'd be telling porkies if I did.
Kudos for the horror attempt though.
Katherine becomes distraught following Sam's disappearance. The family believes that a wolf took the baby. Caleb goes out to hunt with his father, but first he starts to notice Thomasin's breasts. Out in the woods, Caleb becomes fearful that Sam was taken because he lived in sin, making Caleb worry that he is also leading a sinful life that will lead to his doom.

The colors also don't show up very well on the special paper provided, so my kids were frustrated and ended up using regular crayons instead. Overall, it's not worth the money and I would not recommend it.
2. Mark - 1 star - The Crayola Wonder Magic Light was a complete letdown. The light is barely visible and doesn't add any magic or excitement to coloring. The set is also quite expensive for what you get. The special paper and markers are neither impressive nor unique. My kids lost interest in it after just a few minutes and went back to their regular coloring materials. Don't waste your money on this gimmicky product.
3. Lisa - 2 stars - I thought the Crayola Wonder Magic Light would be a fun and interactive way for my children to color, but I was wrong. The light is very faint and hardly noticeable when shining on the special paper. The markers also don't glide smoothly on the paper and the colors are dull.
