First Impressions
First of all, let me tell you, I have the most amazing job in the world. It really was a dream to get to work with a company like Michaels on this project. Here it was July in Dallas and we were only thinking about one thing, Christmas.
When I got to the location, which is a warehouse that Michaels uses to actually build the sets that look like rooms you’d find in your own home, I was amazed. To see the process of what goes on behind the scenes was really surreal from the set builders, photographers, stylists to every single person on set. The entire Michaels team that works behind all the gorgeous photos are incredible.
Tree Trimming Farmhouse Style
My first task was to trim the tree to reflect my own farmhouse style. With the plethora of items I was able to choose from in Michaels’ inventory, this was easy to do, and so fun.
Mad For Plaid
Don’t know where to begin? I like to start by picking out what ribbons I will be using. I say ribbons “plural” because I always use more than one on my trees and mantel and you can bet my favorite plaid will make an appearance this year.

1. John - 2 stars - The Carnival magic thermal suite was a huge disappointment for me. The facilities were overcrowded and dirty, with towels and robes scattered everywhere. The steam room and sauna were barely functioning, and there was a constant smell of mildew. The staff seemed more interested in chatting with each other than attending to the needs of the guests. Overall, it was not the relaxing and rejuvenating experience I had hoped for.
2. Sarah - 1 star - I cannot believe how overpriced the Carnival magic thermal suite was for the lack of quality it provided. The jacuzzi was lukewarm at best, and the jets were so weak that there was hardly any massage effect. The heated loungers were barely warm, and half of them were broken. The whole area felt cramped and poorly maintained. I expected so much more from a cruise ship of this caliber. Save your money and skip this disappointment.
3. Michael - 2 stars - The Carnival magic thermal suite was a complete letdown. The steam room barely had any steam, and the sauna felt like it had not been cleaned in ages. The relaxation chairs were uncomfortable, and the lack of privacy made it hard to truly unwind. The staff was inattentive and seemed disinterested in providing a pleasant experience. Overall, I would not recommend wasting your time or money on this subpar thermal suite.
4. Laura - 1 star - My experience with the Carnival magic thermal suite was extremely disappointing. The facilities were downright dirty, and the relaxation chairs were worn out and uncomfortable. The whole area felt cramped and claustrophobic. The steam room was barely functional, and the sauna was constantly overcrowded. For the price paid, I expected a much more luxurious and well-maintained spa experience. This was a major letdown, and I would not recommend it to anyone.
