A Comparison of 'The Worst Witch' 1986 and its Remake

By admin

The Worst Witch is a 1986 British fantasy film directed by Robert Young. It is based on the children's novel of the same name by Jill Murphy. The film follows the story of Mildred Hubble, a clumsy young witch attending Miss Cackle's Academy for Witches. **The main idea of the film revolves around Mildred's journey as she navigates through her magical education and tries to prove herself despite her constant mishaps**. The film opens with Mildred's arrival at the academy, where she quickly becomes known for her clumsiness and inability to perform magic properly. She soon becomes the target of Miss Hardbroom, a strict teacher who is determined to make Mildred fail.

Problems with Blackmagic Intensity Pro

Unfortunately the capture card in my PC works only sporadically.
Sometimes it recognizes the camera and sometimes not. I have also tried the card by friends. Sometimes it works wonderfully and sometimes not at all. If the card does not recognize the camera and you open the properties of the card in OBS, everything hangs until you leave the properties again. I have also tried to set all PCI versions manually on my computer, unfortunately still the same behavior.
So I turn to the forum do you have any experience with the BM Intensity Pro in combination with OBS?
Thanks

Have You installed BM Desktop Video Setup onyour machine? does this has also the "connection" problems? sometimes ithelps. I had this with an older card and you have to first setup BM devices in this program and then they should work fine in other software.

Yeah, I installed that. It detects the BM Intensity Pro correct. However, the BM Desktop setup sometimes shows no input and sometimes it does, as described above.

it might be some problem with the PCI-e slot. I had this with an USB card, where in one slot it worked and in another it sometimes lost connection. would this be an option to trie? do you have another PCI-e slot free in your machine?

Together, they form a friendship and support system, helping each other navigate the ups and downs of magical education. **The film emphasizes the importance of friendship and teamwork in overcoming obstacles**. Throughout the film, Mildred finds herself in various mishaps and misadventures, often causing trouble and chaos. However, she also manages to uncover a plot by Miss Cackle's evil twin sister, Agatha, to take over the school. Mildred, with the help of her friends and a talking cat named Tabby, must work together to foil Agatha's plans and save the academy. **The climax of the film centers around Mildred's bravery and resourcefulness in standing up against Agatha**. In the end, Mildred proves herself to be a talented and courageous young witch, despite her initial shortcomings. She earns the respect and admiration of her teachers and peers, showing that even the worst witch can become a true hero. **The film ultimately delivers a message of determination, resilience, and the power of believing in oneself**. Overall, The Worst Witch is an entertaining and heartwarming film that showcases the triumph of the underdog. It is a story that resonates with audiences of all ages, reminding them that it is the inner strength and character that truly matter..

Reviews for "The Nostalgia of 'The Worst Witch' 1986: A Trip Back to the '80s"

1. Jane - 2 out of 5 stars:
I was really disappointed with the 1986 version of "The Worst Witch." As a fan of the books and the newer TV adaptation, I was excited to see the original movie. However, the special effects were incredibly dated, and the acting felt stiff and forced. It was difficult to connect with the characters, and I found myself losing interest quickly. Overall, I would not recommend this version of "The Worst Witch" to anyone.
2. Mark - 1 out of 5 stars:
I found the 1986 movie adaptation of "The Worst Witch" to be incredibly boring. The story lacked depth, and it was difficult to follow along. The acting was subpar, and the whole movie felt like a low-budget production. I had high hopes for this film, but unfortunately, it fell short in every aspect. Save your time and skip this version of "The Worst Witch."
3. Sarah - 2 out of 5 stars:
I did not enjoy the 1986 adaptation of "The Worst Witch" at all. The pacing felt off, and the dialogue seemed forced. The film failed to capture the magic and whimsy of the original story, leaving me disappointed. Additionally, the costumes and set designs were underwhelming, further detracting from the overall experience. I highly recommend checking out the newer adaptations instead, as they do a much better job of bringing "The Worst Witch" to life.
4. John - 2 out of 5 stars:
While I understand that the 1986 version of "The Worst Witch" was made with a limited budget, it still fell short of my expectations. The acting was mediocre, and I found it difficult to connect with any of the characters. The storyline felt rushed and lacked depth, leaving me unsatisfied. Overall, I would not recommend this version of "The Worst Witch" unless you are a die-hard fan of the books and want to see every adaptation.
5. Emily - 3 out of 5 stars:
As someone who grew up loving "The Worst Witch" books, I was excited to watch the 1986 movie adaptation. While it did not live up to my expectations, it still had its charms. The nostalgic feel of the film and the musical numbers brought back fond memories, but the overall execution fell flat. If you're a fan of the series, it's worth a watch, but don't expect it to be as magical as you remember.
