I honestly think this is one of the best concealers I ve ever used, and I ve been super happy with everything from the price to the packaging to the formula. The formula confuses me because I can t point out anything particularly unique about it, but I also can t compare it directly to any other concealer I ve ever tried.

From fair to deep, there is a shade available for everyone. This inclusivity has been praised by many users, as finding the right shade match can often be a challenge with other concealers on the market. In addition to its impressive coverage and shade range, the Magic Star concealer also boasts a long-wearing formula.

Jeffree Star’s Magic Star Concealer Review

Hey y’all! This is the first Jeffree Star product I have purchased and am now reviewing, and I’m super excited! While Jeffree Star may not be my favorite makeup artist, I love his Youtube channel and his personality. He recently dropped his new Magic Star Concealers and Setting Powders, and I had my eye on them but didn’t originally buy any. However, one day he randomly announced that the infamous shade C5 (the one that had originally been stolen when his warehouse was robbed), was back in stock, so something inside me told me to buy it. I wanted the setting powder too but didn’t want to spend the extra money at that time, so I just got the concealer.

(sorry for the glare, I was trying to showcase the holographic detailing on the packaging)

The Magic Star Concealers retail for $22 and come with 3.4mL or 0.115 fl oz of product (for reference, this is about 1/2 of what Tarte Shape Tape contains). It comes in 30 shades, which is amazing for a first round launch. The website describes this as, “Our unique creamy, high coverage liquid concealer formula comes in over 30 shades! What does it do? Helps even out skin tone. Has 20% pigment and can cover tattoos. Anti-aging properties help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Increased wear time and a self-setting effect keeps you looking flawless for hours. Fragrance free. Paraben free. Talc free.” It also comes in this gorgeous packaging, that for under $25 is delightful.

My first comment about this product is that I LOVE the applicator. It’s a diamond shape almost, but it has this hole/indentation in the middle, so it holds a lot of product. This means you don’t have to keep going back to the tube a million times for more product. One dip in will cover all of the places I want it to usually. I think everyone should copy that.

I also love the packaging in general because, like I said earlier, it has this giant pink crystal on top and a cute little star, which makes the product feel more luxurious. I could almost go without the star though, because lowkey I have stabbed myself with that thing countless times.

I am also impressed with the formula itself! C5 is a bit too light for me, but it still works. The formula confuses me because I can’t point out anything particularly unique about it, but I also can’t compare it directly to any other concealer I’ve ever tried. It’s really thin, but it doesn’t dry down too fast is VERY high coverage. You can just put a few dots under the eyes and you’re covered. It doesn’t crack or flake or fade at all for me, though I do set it with powder per my usual routine. It just works really well. Again, I wish I could get a darker shade right now, but they’re all sold out.

So there you have it! I honestly think this is one of the best concealers I’ve ever used, and I’ve been super happy with everything from the price to the packaging to the formula. Let me know in the comments what you think of this if you’ve tried it!
