One time, I was looking at an expensive item and he told me to take it to my room and try it out a bit, and if I didn't like it, I could just bring it back to him without buying it. And. those VHS videos were the best!

I loved working with him, and the builder's conference he hosted a few years ago for Michael Baker, Gimpy, Louie Gaynor, Bill Trotter, and myself was beyond awesome. I will always treasure that he accepted my few products into his list; it brought magic back into my life.

Stevens Magic was and is the "Magic Dealer Who Thinks BIG", and was, I think, the foremost PROMOTER of all Magic Dealers ever.
Joe told me many years ago that his Role Model as a Magic Dealer was the late Gene Devoe of Devoe's Magic Den in St. Louis. Gene was my first mentor, and was the man behind the Bro. John Hamman line of Magic.
For those magicians who never had the pleasure of meeting Joe, I will tell you that, in my opinion, he was the best Magic Demonstrator I have ever witnessed, including the late Al Cohen.
Like Gene DeVoe, Joe Stevens had "Chops".

1. Samantha - 1 star - I was extremely disappointed with my experience at Magic wa ff le in Jacksonville. The service was slow and unfriendly, and the food was just mediocre. The waffles were dry and tasteless, and the toppings were sparse. The atmosphere was also lacking, with a cramped and uninviting seating area. I will definitely not be returning to Magic wa ff le and would not recommend it to others.
2. Mark - 2 stars - I had high hopes for Magic wa ff le, but unfortunately, it fell short of my expectations. The waffles were decent, but nothing extraordinary. The biggest letdown was the lack of variety in their menu. It was essentially just different variations of waffles with a few toppings, and the options were not particularly exciting. The prices were also a bit steep for what you got. Overall, I was left feeling underwhelmed and wouldn't go out of my way to visit Magic wa ff le again.
3. Anna - 2 stars - My visit to Magic wa ff le in Jacksonville was rather disappointing. The service was slow, and the staff seemed disinterested and inattentive. The waffles themselves were alright, but the toppings and additional ingredients were lackluster. I had heard great things about this place, but it didn't live up to the hype for me.
