Yankee Trails & Santa’s Magical Express kick off 2020 holiday season

RENSSELAER, N.Y. – Dec. 4 marked the start of the 8th Season of Santa’s Magical Express in the Capital Region.

This year, in light of the pandemic and in keeping with all CDC recommendations, Yankee Trails and Santa’s Magical Express are presenting “Santa’s Magical Zoom Party”, an online 60-minute interactive theatrical experience.

The gang is all back, including Mrs. Claus, Jack Frost, Winky and Ebenezer Scrooge. Once again, they are looking for E.I.T.s (Elves In Training) to help Santa and save Christmas.

“Now more than ever, it’s important to bring some joy and entertainment to children and families throughout the Capital Region,” said Stephen Tobin, president of Yankee Trails. “While we can’t see everyone in person and present Santa’s Magical Express the way thousands have experienced it in the past, this year’s online Zoom Party is sure to put a smile on everyone’s faces.”

Additionally, a free Meet & Greet with Santa and Mrs. Claus has been arranged for Dec. 19 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Yankee Trails office in Rensselaer. Participants will be able to talk, from a safe distance, to the world-famous couple. Face coverings will be mandatory for this event, which is open to all.

Schedules for this year’s holiday events:

Santa’s Magical Zoom Party – $20/family, every Thursday-Sunday, 6 pm & 7:30 pm. Optional private (10 Minute) Zoom call from Santa: $15/family, between 6:15 pm and 8 pm. Optional private (10 Minute) story and color with Mrs. Claus: $10/family, between 6:15 p.m. and 9 p.m. (times will vary).

Santa & Mrs. Claus Meet & Greet – free, Dec. 19, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Yankee Trails 569 3rd Avenue Extension, Rensselaer.

Hop on board Santa's Magical Express and together we will warm Ebenezer Scrooge’s heart and dance with Frosty the Snowman during Yankee Trails World Travels’ theatrical motorcoach presentation of "Hats Off To Santa". Take a leisurely ride through town as we sing and search for clues as to where Jack Frost has taken Santa’s Magical Hat and perhaps learn the true meaning of Christmas.
