Getting power from solar panels after a snow storm just requires brushing them off.

Three years into living off-grid, I've learned a few lessons about solar the hard way.

The motivation to add a solar power system to your home is usually simple: Reduce your power bill or even earn money from your utility. Maybe you add some solar batteries to have a backup in case of an extended outage.

But if there's no grid at your location and solar is your primary source of energy, you have a different set of motivations and concerns, including some that force you to look at basic facts in a whole new light.

My wife and I purchased a not-quite-finished off-grid home about a month into the COVID-19 lockdown and immediately went to work installing half a dozen solar panels. They were initially connected to -- believe it or not -- a pair of huge 6-volt golf cart batteries, each weighing 83 pounds and wired together in series to create a 12-volt system, which generates plenty of 120-volt alternating current via a large inverter. It's a modest system for our modest home.

Reviews for "Unleashing the Playful Side of Your Cat with Magic Cat Balls"

1. Sasha - 2 stars - I was excited to try out the Magic Cat Balls that everyone has been raving about, but I have to say, I was left disappointed. The balls arrived in a flimsy packaging that was already half open. When I finally managed to get into the box, the balls looked cheap and poorly made. My cat showed absolutely no interest in them either. The balls didn't roll smoothly and seemed to be stuck, which frustrated my cat even further. Overall, I don't think these Magic Cat Balls live up to the hype.
2. Max - 1 star - I cannot understand why people are so fascinated with these Magic Cat Balls. My cat had no interest in them whatsoever. They are supposed to light up, but the lights were barely visible even in complete darkness. The material used to make the balls feels cheap and easily breaks. My cat lost all interest in them after just a few minutes of play. Definitely not worth the money.
3. Emily - 2 stars - Magic Cat Balls were a total disappointment. The packaging claims that the balls are odorless, but in reality, they emit a strong chemical smell. It was an instant turn-off for both my cat and me. The balls were also too small for my cat to effectively play with, and she quickly lost interest. I don't understand why these balls are so popular when there are much better cat toys available out there.
4. Liam - 3 stars - While I didn't hate the Magic Cat Balls, I wasn't impressed either. The concept is interesting, but the execution lacks quality. The balls are supposed to be interactive and light up, but the lights are dim and hardly noticeable. The material used is flimsy and prone to damage. My cat did show some interest initially, but it quickly faded away. Overall, I don't think the Magic Cat Balls are worth the price, considering there are better alternatives in the market.
