Creating Amulets for Children: A Guide for Parents

By admin

An amulet is a small object that is believed to bring good luck or offer protection against evil or harm. Making an amulet can be a simple and personal process. Here are some steps to help you create your own amulet. 1. Choose your intention: Before you start making an amulet, it is important to understand your intention behind it. What do you want the amulet to symbolize or attract? It could be love, peace, healing, or any other positive energy that you wish to bring into your life.

Select a base: The base of your amulet can be any small object or piece of jewelry that holds personal significance or matches your intention.

A Natural Witch- Grimoire of Life and Practice

Before we begin, it is important to distinguish between the two! So what is an Amulet exactly? An Amulet is a “natural” object, that can be used (when consecrated) for many purposes- like protection, luck, health, etc. also to attract and repel things. While a Talisman, on the other hand, is a “man-made” object that also has a similar purpose to those previously stated. Note that Amulets, a lot of the time are used to prevent/repel things while talismans are often used as transmitters/ projectors/ attractors of some sort.

How to make an Amulet:

Like mentioned before, an Amulet is made from a natural object, so we won't be making it per say. What we are doing is simply making it wear-able!

An excellent example of this is a Hag stone! (For those who don't know what a Hag stone is, it's basically a stone that has been naturally worn away with water to have a large hole (or holes). Like this:

(image source:https://www.etsy.com/listing/119139600/natural-heart-shape-rock-with-hole) Then, to be worn as an Amulet, you can do this with cords: (source of photo, here: http://leijonstedt.com/general/creative-inspirations/stone-talismans

But in the creation process of making the Hag stone wearable (or which ever natural object you have), you need to cleanse it and consecrate it. So for this example, the Hag stone, known for it's protective qualities, it can be first cleansed is water with salt. Also it can be passed through the smoke of burning herbs (like lavender or etc.) or incense. After purified, as you are charging it with your energy, you can request that your deities bestow their protection onto it so that it's wearer will be protected as well.

Also, it's handy to know that you don't have to leave the “natural object” in it's original state. You can carve or paint onto it as well for increased magical potency!

Now to move on to Talismans. How to Make a Talisman-

Like previously mentioned before, talismans are “man made” for the most part. You can include parts made from nature- like crystals, but it will still be considered a Talisman.

This is an example of a talisman necklace that I made! (The pendant came from the head artist of Green Girl Studios.)

Anywho, so here is what you need to do:

Get the main special object- it can be a pendant like mine, or it can be something as simple as a ring. You can even make it from clay or metal (having a special sigil or symbol on it can play an extremely important role in the talismans function.) But ultimately a talisman can be made from any material.

Determine what the talisman's purpose is. Will it be used for healing? To draw love? Protection? Also choosing the right “time” to do it is also helpful. (Like paying attention to the phases of the moon for increasing strength/effectiveness, etc)

Place that object on a chain. You can put semi-precious stones on the strand like I did to further promote the intended desire of the Talisman. (Further, it's helpful if you are in a semi-meditative state when you do this.)

a. Another note: if you place stones along the chain or certain objects, you can use it as a way to place more spells on it, and activate them whenever you need them.

Charge the Talisman with your energy. (Feel your energy build inside of you then allow it to flow through you and into the talisman. You can also ask for your deities to bestow their blessing, protection etc. onto it as well.) When you feel it is “full” you can stop.

There is no power in the red string, and in no place is it written that a red string is associated with the wisdom of Kabbalah. Even the holy scriptures. They are only holy to those who have attained (internalized) the words that are written. Kabbalah is a method in which man (a person) researches their nature. The nature of our existence, the nature of this reality, and the all-encompassing nature that drives all of humanity to ultimate fulfillment. This is what authentic Kabbalah has the power to reveal, given that one has the desire to reveal these things - in general, the meaning of life.

It could be a pendant, a gemstone, a piece of wood, a small fabric pouch, or even a simple keychain. Choose something that resonates with you. 3. Cleanse and energize: Before crafting your amulet, cleanse and energize it to remove any negative or unwanted energies. You can do this by holding it under running water, smudging it with sage or incense, or simply visualize it being cleansed with pure, positive energy. 4. Gather materials: Collect materials that align with your intention. This can include small crystals or gemstones, dried herbs or flowers, charms, symbols, feathers, or any other elements that hold meaning for you. These materials will be added to your amulet to amplify its energy. 5. Assemble your amulet: Start adding your chosen materials to your amulet base. You can choose to place them inside a pouch or attach them directly to the base, depending on the design you prefer. As you add each element, focus on your intention and visualize the amulet radiating with positive energy. 6. Seal your intention: Once your amulet is assembled, it is important to seal your intention into it. You can do this by holding the amulet in your hands, closing your eyes, and stating your intention out loud or silently. Imagine the amulet being infused with your intention and becoming a powerful tool for attracting what you desire. 7. Wear or keep your amulet: Finally, decide how you want to use your amulet. You can wear it as a necklace, a bracelet, or carry it in your pocket or purse. The important thing is to keep it close to you, allowing its energy to guide and protect you. Remember, the most important aspect of making an amulet is the intention and belief you put behind it. Your amulet is a personal and sacred object that symbolizes your desires and beliefs. Treat it with respect and use it as a reminder of your own power to manifest positive energy in your life..

Reviews for "The Role of Intuition in Amulet Making: Trusting Your Inner Guidance"

1. Emily - 2/5 - I was really excited to make my own amulet but this book was a major letdown. The instructions were confusing and poorly explained, making it difficult for someone like me who is a beginner in crafting. The photos were not helpful either and it was hard to understand what steps to follow. I ended up with a mess of beads and string, and my amulet didn't turn out anything like the one in the picture. I wish the author had provided more detailed instructions and clearer illustrations.
2. Michael - 1/5 - This book was a waste of my time and money. The author claimed it was easy to make an amulet, but that couldn't be further from the truth. The materials suggested in the book were hard to find, and the ones I could find were expensive. Additionally, the steps were not clearly outlined, and I had to guess what to do next. It was a frustrating experience, and I ended up giving up halfway through. I would not recommend this book to anyone looking to make an amulet.
3. Sarah - 3/5 - While I appreciate the effort the author put into explaining how to make an amulet, I found the instructions to be too complicated for a beginner like me. The book assumes that the reader already has some background knowledge in crafting, which I clearly lacked. The illustrations also could have been more detailed, as I ended up making mistakes along the way. If you're already experienced in making amulets or have some crafting knowledge, this book might be helpful, but for someone just starting out, it's not the best beginner's guide.
