Older children enjoy our Make-It Workshop, where they sew on a real sewing machine, create a unique sculpture out of recycled materials, see a 3D printer in action and more; and the Star-Spangled Center, a civic education center with a courtroom, legislative chamber and the Oval Office, where any kid can be president. Residents of St. Louis County, St. Louis City, Jefferson County, Franklin County, St. Charles County, Warren County, Lincoln County can enjoy $3 admission per person from 3:00pm – 5:00pm. 1. Samantha - 2 stars - I found "Cruel Witch of the Western Lands" to be incredibly dull and uninspiring. The storyline was predictable and lacked any depth or originality. The characters felt flat and one-dimensional, making it difficult to become emotionally invested in their journeys. Additionally, the pacing was extremely slow, dragging the plot along at a snail's pace. Overall, I was disappointed with this book and would not recommend it to others.
2. James - 1 star - "Cruel Witch of the Western Lands" was a complete waste of my time. The writing style was convoluted and pretentious, making it difficult to follow and understand what was happening. The author introduced too many unnecessary subplots and characters that only added to the confusion. Additionally, the supposed "twists" in the story were predictable and lacked any shock value. I struggled to finish this book and would strongly advise others to avoid it.
3. Jessica - 2 stars - I had high hopes for "Cruel Witch of the Western Lands", but it fell flat for me. The protagonist lacked depth and felt more like a caricature than a fully fleshed-out character. The world-building was also disappointing, with little effort put into creating a believable and immersive setting. The dialogue was clunky and unnatural, making it difficult to connect with the story. Overall, this book failed to captivate my interest and left me feeling underwhelmed.
4. Matthew - 3 stars - While I didn't hate "Cruel Witch of the Western Lands", I can't say I enjoyed it either. The plot felt disjointed, with no clear direction or purpose. The pacing was inconsistent, making it hard to stay engaged with the story. Additionally, the descriptions were often excessive and slowed down the narrative flow. There were moments of potential, but they were overshadowed by the overall lackluster execution. I would recommend approaching this book with caution.
