After losing to Casper Ruud in the quarter finals at Roland Garros, Rune claimed Ruud approached him in the locker room afterwards and yelled "YES" in his face, an allegation Ruud's camp denied.

"I don't know Holger personally, but I have seen on TV that sometimes there can be a lot of drama," Ruud said at the time.

"He's young and new, so that's excusable, but when you're on a big stage, it might be time to grow up a bit."

Rune has since advanced to the round of 16 in Paris, downing 10th seed Hubert Hurkacz 7-5, 6-1.
