Tapping into Nature's Energy: A Witch's Journey through the Natural World

By admin

I would like to recommend a book for nature-loving witches called "The Green Witch: Your Complete Guide to the Natural Magic of Herbs, Flowers, Essential Oils, and More". This book is written by Arin Murphy-Hiscock, a renowned author in the field of witchcraft and herbalism. In "The Green Witch", the author explores the deep connection between witches and nature, providing an extensive guide to incorporating natural elements into magical practices. The book covers various topics such as herbalism, essential oils, flower magic, and earth-based spirituality. One of the main ideas conveyed in this book is the importance of honoring and working with the natural world. It emphasizes the use of herbs, plants, and flowers in spellwork, divination, and rituals.

Being new to drilling hard steels, annealed or hardened and working w/ a HF 5 speed drill press that even at it's slowest setting is a little faster than ideal for steel I've found that starting with a good drill bit and using Rapid Tap and taking it slow works well so far. I've only drilled mild steel and 1080 but the difference without the oil vs. with the oil is like night and day. It only takes a drop or two for a 1/4" hole or smaller and my bits seem to be holding their edge well so far. I think I bought it at more of a specialty hardware store nearby because HD and Lowes didn't have any real cutting oil. Had a couple employees try to convince me that WD-40 was just as good as a cutting oil but I've compared them side by side and there's a HUGE difference (I even tried PB Blaster, Deep Creep and another I can't recall at the moment and none compared to the cutting oil)! I think I got a 4 or 8 ounce bottle for about $6 and I think it's going to be lasting me for quite a while. Well worth it in my experience so far! Good luck!

Dark Cutting Oil is comprised of an extra heavy blend of high-quality mineral oils with a sulfur-lard base to keep tooling and work cool when used on high-speed threading machines.

It emphasizes the use of herbs, plants, and flowers in spellwork, divination, and rituals. The author encourages readers to develop a deep understanding of the natural cycles and to align their magic with the changing seasons. "The Green Witch" also provides practical advice on how to create a garden of magical plants, how to harvest and store herbs, and how to responsibly use essential oils.

Thread Cutting Oil and Tapping Fluid

How they're used: Thread cutting oil (thread making) and tapping (“grooving”) fluid lubricate, and dissipate heat, from the tool and workpiece, and remove chips during the cutting process. Ideally, they have good anti-weld properties to prevent the build-up of metal on the tool, and good corrosion control qualities.

The job of a good thread cutting oil or tapping fluid is to maximize the yield of parts per tool, while keeping thread quality high and consistent. The best products have lower viscosity, so that chips and contaminants flush easily away from the workpiece, control rancidity, and leave parts and machines “clean,” and free of sticky residues.

Thread cutting speed always plays a role in determining the best fluid to use; chip loading and the projected service life for cutting inserts are also important factors.

To review all of the factors that are useful in choosing the best thread cutting or tapping fluid, contact your Acculube metalworking specialist.

Acculube recommends:

Castrol Variocut C Moly-Dee Cutting Fluid
This high performance thread cutting and tapping fluid improves threading accuracy, extends tool life, and improves surface finishes. Variocut C Moly-Dee is ideal for aluminum, titanium and steel, and is especially effective on difficult-to machine metals such as stainless steel and aerospace alloys.

Moly-Dee Cutting Fluid is non-chlorinated, with outstanding thermal and chemical stability. This resistance to breakdown allows closer tolerances and provides smoother, more accurate threads. EP additives promote optimum metal cutting performance and improved surface finishes.

Pro-Chem Pro Draw 722 Thread Cutting / Tapping Fluid
This high-performing, all-metal tapping and thread cutting lubricant was designed for High Pressure Lubrication Its chlorinated wax/oil gel formula clings to taps and tooling and withstands extremely high temperatures.

Pro Draw 722 is well-suited to almost every machining operation, including heavy-duty forming, threading, gear cutting, CNC tapping, external broaching, blind hole tapping, peck drilling and reaming, and extruding. It eliminates chipping and galling and greatly reduces tool breakage. It is virtually odorless. Pro Draw 722 is used as received by dipping or flooding, and can be diluted with mineral oil or mineral spirits for less demanding applications.

Reviews for "Witchcraft at the Crossroads of Nature and Magick"

1. Karen - 2 stars - As someone who loves nature and is interested in witchcraft, I was really excited to read this book. However, I found it to be quite disappointing. The information provided was superficial and lacked depth. I was hoping for more specific rituals and spells related to nature, but instead, the book was filled with generic information that I could find anywhere. Additionally, the writing style was quite repetitive and did not hold my interest. Overall, I was left wanting more and wouldn't recommend this book to other nature-loving witches.
2. Michael - 1 star - This book was a huge letdown for me. The title promised a lot, but the content failed to deliver. I was looking for practical advice on how to connect with nature through witchcraft, but instead, I found pages and pages of irrelevant anecdotes and personal musings. The author seemed more interested in sharing their personal experiences than providing useful information. Moreover, the writing was disorganized, making it difficult to follow the overall structure of the book. Overall, I felt like I wasted my time and money on this book, and I would advise others to look elsewhere for a more informative read.
3. Sarah - 2 stars - While the concept of this book was intriguing, I found the execution to be lacking. The author seemed more focused on being poetic and flowery in their descriptions rather than providing practical advice. I was hoping for detailed information on connecting with nature and incorporating it into my witchcraft practice, but I didn't find much substance here. The book felt more like a collection of pretty quotes and Instagram captions rather than a comprehensive guide. Disappointed with the lack of depth, I wouldn't recommend this book to serious nature-loving witches.
