Six Things To Know Before Playing An Escape Room

Escape rooms are relatively new, so when we start talking about locking people in rooms for fun, we sometimes get a few puzzled looks. So, let's get you up to speed. An escape room is a room with a clever theme (like a bank heist, a crime scene, or a Revolutionary War battle). Within the room, there are numerous clues, puzzles, and secret compartments, all of which work in sequence, each one leading to the next. You and your friends, family or coworkers have one hour to solve all of the clues to escape the room. Sounds fun, right?

2. You have nothing to fear.

There is a HUGE misunderstanding that escape rooms are scary. That’s simply not true. Some are, but they will tell you that in the room description online. Otherwise, whatever room you choose will not be scary. At all. "But I hear you get locked inside a room. that sounds kind of scary to me!" We understand that this is a legitimate fear for some people, but there's no need to panic. There are exit buttons that will automatically let you out, so you’re never really locked in. And, the rooms themselves are normal sized rooms. There's nothing claustrophobic about them. All in all, there’s nothing to fear!

Additionally, some people are worried that they’ll get embarrassed because they can’t solve certain clues. These rooms are designed for everyone, and that includes you. And don't worry! If you get really stuck, our game masters are here to help and are more than happy to give you up to 3 clues to get you moving again. So what else is there to be afraid of? Not getting your money’s worth? Not an issue. When polling past customers, every single customer has responded with a resounding "YES!" to whether they'd like to come back and play another room.

3. You’re going to be challenged.

Any good escape room is going to test your creativity and persistence. You’ll have to think outside of the box. You’ll have to work together. And you’ll have to do it all while racing against the clock. Trust us, your adrenaline will be pumping by the end of the game!

4. You will have a ton of fun.

Our business is here to entertain you. Not only that, we are in the business of creating a novel and entertaining experience that you will never forget! While your mission is to solve the clues to escape in time, our mission is to make sure that you are having an amazing time with your friends, family, or coworkers that allows you to laugh, bond, and solve puzzles together. We want you to enjoy yourselves, excitedly tell your friends about it, and come back to play again!

5. You don’t have to be a genius. Escape rooms are for everyone!

We hear this frequently when people are talking about playing an escape room for the first time: “Well, I’m not smart enough to figure all that stuff out.” Let's go ahead and put this myth to rest: You, no matter who you are, are smart enough to do well in an escape room. Like we said before, we are in the entertainment business and designed our rooms with YOU in mind. Escape rooms are designed to be fun for all people, regardless of age or IQ.

At Exodus, our rooms are designed so that they’ll be enjoyed by anyone ages 13 and older. And we mean it. We’ve had players that were as young as 13, and we’ve had entire groups where the youngest participant was in their 50’s. In each case, everyone had a great time. (Fun Fact: The “oldest” group and the “youngest” group we’ve ever had both escaped the room. So that should tell you something).

6. You may not make it out every time (and that’s perfectly okay!).

If every room was so easy that you escaped every time, that wouldn’t be nearly as fun, would it? Part of the excitement of doing an escape room is that you’re not guaranteed to make it out in time. This makes your adrenaline flow a bit more, your heart race a bit faster, and your creative problem solving a bit sharper.

Some of our rooms are designed to be harder than others, and that's why we list the difficulty on home page of the website. And if you don’t make it out, don’t worry. You’re still in good company. Many of our customers have come SO CLOSE but haven't quite made it out in time. However, their reactions have always been positive, with many groups saying, "Yeah. we didn't make it out, but that was still so much fun! We'll definitely be back!" And don't worry. we'll still let you out even if you don't solve all the puzzles. You won't be locked in forever.

Now that you know a little more about what to expect, why not try an escape room for yourself? It's easy to book a spot at Exodus Escape Games online.

If you've already booked a spot, great! We're so excited to create an unforgettable experience for you and your group and look forward to seeing you soon!

Reviews for "Alton Towers Unleashes the Vurse: A Game-Changing Coaster"

1. Emily - 2 stars - I was really disappointed with the Alton Towers Thr Vurse experience. The virtual reality headsets were uncomfortable and gave me a headache. The graphics were also quite pixelated and unrealistic, which took away from the overall immersive experience. The ride itself was not that thrilling and felt quite slow. I expected more adrenaline-pumping moments and twists, but it was rather tame. The only good thing about the whole experience was the queue, as it was nicely themed and entertaining. Overall, I highly do not recommend Alton Towers Thr Vurse.
2. David - 1 star - Alton Towers Thr Vurse was a complete waste of my time and money. The virtual reality aspect of the ride was poorly executed and the visuals were blurry and poorly rendered. Additionally, the ride itself was not exciting at all. It felt more like a slow-paced, gentle tour rather than a thrilling roller coaster experience. The whole thing just left me feeling underwhelmed and wanting my money back. Save yourself the disappointment and skip Alton Towers Thr Vurse.
3. Sarah - 2 stars - I had high hopes for Alton Towers Thr Vurse, but unfortunately, it fell short of expectations. The virtual reality element was interesting, but the quality of the visuals was lacking. It was difficult to fully immerse myself in the experience when the graphics were pixelated and the movements not synced well with the virtual reality headset. The actual ride itself was lackluster and lacked the adrenaline rush I anticipated. Overall, I was quite disappointed and would not recommend Alton Towers Thr Vurse to others.
4. Jason - 2 stars - Alton Towers Thr Vurse was nothing special. The virtual reality technology used was not impressive and left much to be desired. The visuals were mediocre, with noticeable pixelation and blurry images. The ride itself was okay, but it lacked the excitement and thrill that I associate with roller coasters. It felt more like a gimmick than a true thrill ride. The whole experience left me feeling underwhelmed and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone looking for a genuinely thrilling experience.
