The concept of a 12 ft witch is intriguing and mysterious. It brings to mind images of a towering and powerful witch, standing tall at 12 feet in height. This depiction of a witch is far from the stereotypical image of a small, hunched figure in a pointed hat. A 12 ft witch suggests a being of immense power and strength. There is a similar sparseness to worldbuilding here that Wells also exhibited in her Murderbot Diaries series. While minimal descriptions work in that series of novellas because it is set in a pretty generic futuristic sci-fi setting, here the world is so new and different that I think the book needed to fill things in which just a tad more depth and detail.
Therefore, while I was still often abstracted from what exactly was going on at any given time, I also did start get a better grasp on the world, plot, and characters as the book progressed. Even though the book is dense with detailed and beautiful world-building, I would have sold my soul for a prologue that politely spelled out the entire history of the world in a linear fashion.
It is an entity that demands attention and respect. One may question what abilities and talents a 12 ft witch would possess. It is likely that their magical powers would be unparalleled, as they are able to channel a vast amount of energy due to their size.
