Crystals, Herbs, and Tools of the Craft: Incorporating Magickal Elements in Your Yearlong Wiccan Apprenticeship

By admin

The Yearlong Wiccan apprenticeship is an immersive and intensive program designed to guide individuals on their path to becoming a Wiccan practitioner. The apprenticeship focuses on experiential learning and provides the necessary knowledge and skills to practice Wicca effectively. Throughout the year, apprentices are introduced to various aspects of Wiccan philosophy, rituals, and spellwork. They learn about the Wiccan deities, sabbats, and esbats, as well as the ethical principles and values that underpin Wiccan practice. The apprenticeship also covers the use of tools, herbs, and crystals in rituals and spellcasting. The main goal of the apprenticeship is to support individuals in developing a deep understanding of Wiccan practices and their personal spiritual connection.

I learned about how to do ritual, how to work with others, how to appreciate diversity of thought and personality, how to love myself and my body in a new way, how to laugh with my whole belly, and how to see the magic in all things. Participants will learn to work with 12 stories throughout the course of the apprenticeship, 8 of which are offered as part of the work and 4 of which are discovered by the apprentices as they move through the equinoxes, cross-quarter days, and solstices.

Our work is a year-long journey into the wilds of spellcraft, ceremony, and myth. The Mythic Witchcraft Apprenticeship is essentially a conscious exploration of your “living craft” and “living story,” supported by Danielle in a non-hierarchical partnership.

To be humble means to be “close to the earth.” This is an intentionally humble offering, a weaving of your own experience with what wisdom Danielle has to share about word-witchery, embodied magick and spellcraft, and what it means to have a “living Craft” in a wounded and wondrous world. Consider the apprenticeship as a hearty meal prepared with much love; you are invited to taste all of it, to eat as much as you like, but there is absolutely no pressure to devour every little bite that’s been prepared for you. Everything in the apprenticeship is an invitation. If there is a component of the work that does not suit your life and/or path you already walk, we will adjust accordingly. This is not static and immutable work, after all, and Danielle claims absolutely no mastery over the Craft. She will share what she knows and aims to be as transparent as possible about the apprenticeship’s structure and expectations.

In the interest of such transparency, here are some details: There are 13 spots available in the apprenticeship each year. All spaces tend to fill within a few months after registration opens, so we strongly recommend applying as soon as possible. The 2024 apprenticeship will be the 7th incarnation of the program.

Registration will stay open until all 13 spots have been filled, and the apprenticeship will begin on February 10th, 2024. The apprenticeship is offered completely online, with optional participation in three virtual immersions and one in-person, residential immersion included in the cost of tuition. Participation in the immersions is encouraged but not necessary. You do not need to attend the immersions live in order to complete the apprenticeship, but you are strongly encouraged to do so if you’re able. For the virtual immersions, everything is recorded so participants can view the content later. For the in-person immersion, you need to attend live in order to take part, but there is an optional “project bundle” that is offered to those who cannot attend the on-the-land immersion and wish to move through some of the rituals solitarily.

The program is grounded in an “everything is an invitation” philosophy. You will not get booted from the program because you do not attend or complete something. We know this goes against our academic training and requires a little self-discipline. You decide how much or how little you want to do. You will have access to all materials and recordings for at least three years after the program ends (or they can be downloaded and kept forever and ever).

At the beginning of each season, participants are invited to consider seeing their lives through the lens of a particular myth, folk tale, or “wonder story.” Stories are the original spells. We will allow the mythic intelligence to guide our spell-work, to open portals for the “wild unseen” to find us, and to gift us with the personal insight we require. Participants will learn to work with 12 stories throughout the course of the apprenticeship, 8 of which are offered as part of the work and 4 of which are discovered by the apprentices as they move through the equinoxes, cross-quarter days, and solstices.

At the beginning of each moon cycle, participants receive an outline of that moon’s work which includes dark, new, waxing, full, and waning moon practices aligning with that season’s energies and story. The outline is always accompanied by an audio tutorial detailing the work. Apprentices can expect to spend a minimum of 1 hour per week on the work if they go all-in; this does not include the optional, recommended reading.

Apprentices receive significant discounts on (and sometimes free tickets to) several one to three day virtual programs with Danielle throughout the year, and early applicants may receive this benefit before the program begins.

The final component of the apprenticeship are two one-on-one sessions with Danielle that are approximately 60 minutes in length, the rhythm and content of which will depend on the season. There is one, one-on-one session in Spring and Autumn. The one-on-one sessions are tailored to the participant but generally focus on how to “hold” the energies of the season and wield them in their work, mold the recommended spells and vision work to their lifestyle, and integrate the new content with the participant’s lived experience, with the particular and personal myth they are living.

Reviews for "Exploring Other Magickal Traditions: Introducing Eclectic Elements in Your Yearlong Wiccan Apprenticeship"

1. Karen - 2 stars - I signed up for the yearlong wiccan apprenticeship with high hopes, but I was ultimately disappointed. The course material was disorganized and lacked depth. The instructors seemed unprepared and unenthusiastic, making it difficult to stay engaged. Furthermore, the promised mentorship and personal guidance were virtually non-existent. Overall, I didn't feel like I learned much from this apprenticeship and I regret spending my money on it.
2. Michael - 1 star - This yearlong wiccan apprenticeship was a complete waste of time and money. The content provided was extremely basic and didn't offer any real insights or in-depth knowledge about Wicca. The course felt rushed and lacked structure, making it difficult to follow along. Additionally, the instructors were not responsive to questions or concerns, leaving students feeling ignored and frustrated. I would not recommend this apprenticeship to anyone serious about studying Wicca.
3. Sarah - 2 stars - I was excited to deepen my knowledge in Wicca through the yearlong apprenticeship, but unfortunately, it fell short of my expectations. The course material was often repetitive and wasn't presented in a cohesive manner. The lack of practical exercises and hands-on experience made it challenging to really grasp the concepts being taught. Additionally, the support and interaction with fellow apprentices were minimal at best. While there were a few interesting topics covered, overall, I found this apprenticeship to be lacking substance and depth.
