The word "eclectic" itself means selecting or choosing from various sources, and that is exactly what eclectic witches do. They pick and choose elements from different traditions, such as Wicca, ceremonial magic, herbalism, and more, to create a practice that resonates with them personally. This freedom to mix and match allows eclectic witches to create a practice that is tailored to their own needs, interests, and beliefs. Eclectic witches can be seen as the magpies of the witchcraft world, collecting and incorporating various elements that speak to them and utilizing them in their own unique way.
As mentioned above, the Eclectic Witch path can draw on many different topics and subjects. I would not recommend starting with any books specifically about Eclectic Witchcraft. I also would avoid Wiccan authors (unless you follow that path). I’ve noticed many beginners like starting with books by Arin Murphy-Hiscock; however, I would also avoid those because they’re full of fluff and aren’t that in-depth.
