Working with Deities in Eclectic Witchcraft

By admin

Eclectic witchcraft is a type of witchcraft that incorporates a variety of different traditions, beliefs, and practices. Rather than strictly adhering to one specific path or tradition, eclectic witches draw knowledge and inspiration from multiple sources to create a unique and personalized practice. The word "eclectic" itself means selecting or choosing from various sources, and that is exactly what eclectic witches do. They pick and choose elements from different traditions, such as Wicca, ceremonial magic, herbalism, and more, to create a practice that resonates with them personally. This freedom to mix and match allows eclectic witches to create a practice that is tailored to their own needs, interests, and beliefs. Eclectic witches can be seen as the magpies of the witchcraft world, collecting and incorporating various elements that speak to them and utilizing them in their own unique way.

As mentioned above, the Eclectic Witch path can draw on many different topics and subjects. I would not recommend starting with any books specifically about Eclectic Witchcraft. I also would avoid Wiccan authors (unless you follow that path). I’ve noticed many beginners like starting with books by Arin Murphy-Hiscock; however, I would also avoid those because they’re full of fluff and aren’t that in-depth.

Please note that I make every effort to ensure this information is correct and accurate through my own experiences and referencing sources throughout AND at the bottom of this article. When we do magick, we are not only using our own energy, but are also tapping into either the benevolent energy of Creation Source the Divine etc, or the darker energies that exist in the Universe and within ourselves.

Because of its flexible nature, eclectic witchcraft is an inclusive and adaptable practice that can be easily customized to fit any individual's spiritual journey. Eclectic witches may choose to work with deities from various pantheons, incorporate different types of magic such as candle magic or crystal magic, and may even create their own rituals and spells based on their personal preferences and experiences.

The Merriam Dictionary defines the word 'eclectic' as meaning "selecting what appears to be best in various doctrines, methods, or styles ." Eclectic Wiccans (and eclectic Pagans, who are a very similar group) do just that, sometimes on their own and sometimes in informal or formal groups.

I found "What is eclectic witchcraft" to be a confusing and scattered book. It claims to provide a comprehensive understanding of eclectic witchcraft, but the content lacked depth and specificity. The writing style is also convoluted and hard to follow, making it difficult to grasp the concepts being presented. Overall, I was disappointed with this book and would not recommend it to others seeking a clear and concise explanation of eclectic witchcraft.

"What is eclectic witchcraft" is nothing more than a hodgepodge of random information thrown together without any coherent structure. The author jumps from one topic to another, often without providing enough context or explanation. It felt like reading a bunch of disjointed blog posts rather than a cohesive book. The lack of organization and depth made it impossible for me to gain any meaningful knowledge about eclectic witchcraft from this book. Save your money and look for a more reputable source of information.

As someone looking to learn about eclectic witchcraft, I found this book to be lacking in substance. The information provided was vague and shallow, and the author failed to go into detail on important topics. The book also didn't provide any practical guidance or hands-on exercises, which would have been helpful for beginners. Overall, "What is eclectic witchcraft" left me feeling confused and unsatisfied. I would recommend looking for other resources that offer a more comprehensive and practical understanding of the subject.
