In the realm of folklore and fairy tales, witches have long captivated the imaginations of both young and old alike. From the bloodthirsty witches of Roald Dahl's novels to the enchanting sorceresses of classic Disney movies, these characters have become a staple in popular culture. However, amidst the well-known tales of witches and their magical powers, there is one character who often goes unnoticed - the forgotten witch. The forgotten witch, whose story is seldom told, is a figure who lives on the fringes of society, misunderstood and feared by those around her. She is not the glamorous, all-powerful witch of conventional tales, but rather a more complex and nuanced character. She is not evil or wicked, but rather a product of her circumstances, often forced to resort to magic to survive in a world that rejects her.

Meg Shelton was a woman from Lancashire in the 1600 s and was thought to be a witch this animated poem tries to recreate her story and brings her to the forefront of peoples mind reminding us these were real events. For this project, I was really inspired by the stories and history behind the poem the Lancashire history of witches is a rich one and I really wanted to remind people of the events and show the history through an animation.
She is not evil or wicked, but rather a product of her circumstances, often forced to resort to magic to survive in a world that rejects her. Unlike her more widely recognized counterparts, the forgotten witch does not have a fancy wand or a cauldron bubbling with potions. Instead, she relies on her innate connection with nature to harness her powers.

Melinoe knows this better than anyone. With a father who doesn't claim her and a childhood accident that left her changed, she has spent eternity feeling neglected. Of course, a clever goddess always finds ways to entertain herself, and luring Hades into bed is her favorite pastime. But Hades has a new queen, and Melinoe feels like a discarded glove. So, what's a neglected witch to do but break up the perfect pair. And Melinoe knows just the incubus to do it. [Wattys 2018 Longlist Finalist] This is a Lexi & Hades Novella. She is a caretaker of the earth, using her magic to heal the land and protect the creatures that inhabit it. Through her quiet and solitary existence, she becomes a guardian of the natural world, striving to restore harmony and balance in a world that often seems chaotic and destructive. While the forgotten witch may not have the glamour and fame of her more celebrated peers, she possesses a wisdom and knowledge that is often overlooked. Her understanding of the interconnectedness of all things gives her a unique perspective on the world, one that is rooted in empathy and compassion. Unlike the witches who seek power and control over others, she uses her magic for the greater good, often working behind the scenes to bring about positive change. In a society that tends to dismiss or stigmatize those who do not conform to its norms, the forgotten witch serves as a reminder of the power of individuality and the importance of embracing our differences. She teaches us that it is in our unique qualities and abilities that we find strength, and that it is through honoring and respecting the marginalized and misunderstood among us that we can truly achieve harmony and balance. So, let us not forget the forgotten witch, the quiet and unassuming figure who exists on the periphery of our collective imagination. Let us recognize and celebrate her for the wisdom, compassion, and magic she brings into our lives. For it is in understanding and embracing the forgotten witch that we can unlock our own potential for growth, empathy, and transformation..
Reviews for "Remembering the Forgotten Witch: Restoring Her Place in History"
1. Sarah - 2 stars - I was really disappointed with "The forgotten witch". The storyline was confusing and the characters felt one-dimensional. It felt like the author tried to cram too many supernatural elements into the plot, which just made it feel chaotic. I also found the writing style to be quite amateurish, with awkward dialogue and repetitive descriptions. Overall, I would not recommend this book.
2. John - 2 stars - I couldn't get into "The forgotten witch" at all. The pacing was incredibly slow, and it took forever for the plot to actually develop. I also found the main character to be unlikable and lacking depth. The romantic subplot felt forced and unrealistic. Additionally, the world-building was weak and the magical system was poorly explained. I had high hopes for this book, but unfortunately, it fell short of my expectations.
3. Emily - 1 star - I was extremely bored reading "The forgotten witch". The plot was predictable and offered no surprises. The dialogue felt unnatural, and the character development was almost nonexistent. The author failed to create any emotional connection with the reader, and I found myself not caring about the outcome of the story. It's unfortunate, but I would not recommend this book to anyone looking for an engaging and well-written fantasy novel.
4. Michael - 2 stars - "The forgotten witch" was a letdown for me. The writing was lackluster, with awkward prose and unnecessary descriptions that seemed to drag on forever. The plot lacked originality and was filled with cliched tropes. The pacing was slow, and I found myself losing interest in the story multiple times. The book had potential, but it ultimately failed to deliver a compelling and memorable reading experience.
