By admin

The Excalibur Curse is a legendary curse associated with the mythical sword Excalibur. Excalibur is best known for being wielded by the legendary King Arthur in many Arthurian legends. It is said to be a magical sword with immense power and is often portrayed as the key to Arthur's success as a king. According to the legend, the Excalibur Curse is a curse that is bound to those who wield the sword. It is said that anyone who possesses the sword and uses it for evil or selfish purposes will be cursed with misfortune and tragedy. The curse is believed to bring about their downfall and ultimately bring them to ruin.

The Good Fairies; Flora, Fauna and Merryweather are a unique entry on this list due to the fact that they are the only entry to have more than one spell caster. However, the three fairies are such a unit and their powers are so intertwined that I feel it necessary that they are grouped together, especially since they are equals in terms of what they can do. I view the good fairies as incredibly underrated spell casters, these spell casters were the ones who thwarted Maleficent and all her powers of black sorcery for sixteen years. The first spells they use in Sleeping Beauty, are easily overlooked, however this is a demonstration of what is perhaps objectively some of the most powerful magic in the Disney Universe. When the Good Fairies appear, they are each able to bestow one gift each upon the infant Princess Aurora, Flora cast a spell that would ensure that Aurora would grow up to be beautiful, even charming some of her features such as her lips and hair. Fauna cast a spell that would grant her a beautiful singing voice and both of these spells would be permanent. Lets break this down, the Fairies influenced the way the child would grow and gave her gifts that normally could only develop naturally, manipulating the way a person grows up is an incredibly powerful display of magic. Blessing a being in this way is serious magic and this power alone would earn them a place on this list. Perhaps just as impressive is their ability to influence and even change a powerful curse of dark magic placed on Aurora by one so powerful as Maleficent. When Merryweather changes the outcome of the curse, altering it so instead of the curse resulting in Aurora’s death, it will simply induce a suspended sleep state, in which she would not wake or age until she feels true love’s first kiss meaning that the fairies even have some power to halt the effects of time. Despite their sweet exterior, these small fairies pack some serious power, these phenomenal feats of magic are proof of this. Aside from this the good fairies have a wide range of different magical abilities; size-manipulation, flight, petrification, transfiguration, pyrokinesis, enchanting, telekinesis, colour-manipulation, teleportation, conjuration and sleep induction. This makes the three good fairies some of the most varied and well-balanced spell casters in the entire Disney universe! They used these powers for anything ranging between household chores such as dress-making, baking and cleaning to battling Maleficent and her minions; petrifying her evil raven Diablo, transfiguring the weapons of minions into harmless bubbles, flowers and rainbows. Conjuring enchanted weapons for Prince Philip and further empowering it to destroy evil, thus creating the weapon that would end Maleficent once and for all. Furthermore, they were able to extend the enchantment of Aurora’s sleep to the entirety of King Stefan’s kingdom, to suspend an entire kingdom in an ageless sleep is an astonishing piece of magic. I believe this makes the three good fairies the most underrated spell casters on this list, their feats are often overlooked which is incredible to me. considering all they showcased in Sleeping Beauty. However I concede that their appearance and charming spells do give a sense of comfort rather than power, however if one looks closer and actually thinks about what their spells are doing, they would realize that these are more than cute little old fairies with flower power magic.

Now this is not a particularly strong indicator of what limits the fairy s powers have, after all it is exceedingly difficult and usually impossible to break or reverse a spell cast by another, unless the sorcerer trying to do so is far more powerful than the one who originally cast the spell. The first spells they use in Sleeping Beauty, are easily overlooked, however this is a demonstration of what is perhaps objectively some of the most powerful magic in the Disney Universe.

The curse is believed to bring about their downfall and ultimately bring them to ruin. The Excalibur Curse is often seen as a form of divine retribution, punishing those who abuse the power of the sword. It is a reminder that power should be used responsibly and for the greater good.

While exceedingly powerful, there does seem to be a limit to the fairies magic, they cannot completely break the curse of Maleficent. Now this is not a particularly strong indicator of what limits the fairy’s powers have, after all it is exceedingly difficult and usually impossible to break or reverse a spell cast by another, unless the sorcerer trying to do so is far more powerful than the one who originally cast the spell. As I said before, to even alter the course of a curse is an incredibly powerful display of magic especially when the one who cast it is as powerful as Maleficent. However, the fairies themselves don’t consider themselves to be powerful enough to challenge her openly. According to Flora, the fairies cannot use their powers for anything other than good, however the specifics of this are lost on me, it seems that this is either a self-imposed limit due to their morals or perhaps one bestowed on them by some higher power they answer to. However, Merryweather turns Diablo permanently into stone and Fauna gifts Prince Philip with weapons and enchants them with the power to kill evil which are both offensive spells with potentially lethal outcomes. With that being said it is difficult to understand exactly what the specifics of that particular limitation is, other than this, it is hard to say but what these three fairies cannot do. Their place on this list is more based on the characters above them showing certain abilities that Flora, Fauna and Merryweather have not shown themselves to possess. However, as I say, these three are among the most powerful spell casters in the Disney universe and in my opinion the most underrated, and definitely deserve their spot on this list.

Do you agree with my estimation of Flora, Fauna and Merryweather? I’d be intrigued to hear your thoughts.

The excalibur curse

Those who are weak-willed or corrupted by ambition are said to be particularly susceptible to the curse. One of the most famous examples of the Excalibur Curse is the story of Arthur's half-sister Morgana. In many versions of the legend, Morgana steals Excalibur and attempts to use it for her own gain. However, the curse befalls her and leads to her own downfall. The Excalibur Curse serves as a moral lesson within Arthurian legends. It warns against the dangers of greed and ego, emphasizing the importance of using power wisely. It highlights the idea that power can corrupt and ultimately destroy those who yield it improperly. The Excalibur Curse adds an element of caution and consequence to the myth of King Arthur and his legendary sword. It serves as a reminder that even the greatest of powers can have disastrous consequences if used irresponsibly. Ultimately, the curse serves as a warning to all those who seek power and reminds them to be mindful of their actions and intentions..
