Throughout the game, Jack encounters familiar characters from the television series, such as Aku, the shape-shifting master of darkness, and various other enemies.
Mahomes Magic Crunch Review
I might be the only person in Kansas City who won’t be watching the Super Bowl this Sunday. It’s not that I’m going out of my way to avoid it (though I am steering clear of downtown), but that I’m not really into sports (especially pro sports) and I don’t have cable. I may catch some of the game if I’m in the vicinity of a television tuned to it, but otherwise, I’ll just keep an eye on the results.
But that doesn’t mean I’m totally indifferent to the game and what it means for the city. So I felt like I should participate in some fashion. And that fashion is buying a box of Mahomes Magic Crunch.
Exclusively sold by HyVee—for the most part my go-to supermarket—Mahomes Magic Crunch is, for those who don’t know, named for Patrick Mahomes, starting quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs. He’s very good at it. Very, very good at it. The Chiefs are playing their first Super Bowl since 1970—before Mahomes’ father was born—and he’s a big part of why.
So it’s not entirely surprising that he got his own cereal. In fact, it was created to raise funds for his charity, the 15 and the Mahomies Foundation, “dedicated to improving the lives of children.” Which might explain why it goes for $4 a box—on the high end for a non-health-food cereal. So it was created with a very specific and admirable purpose in mind. And if you’re buying it, that should be a major consideration.
But how is it as an actual cereal? Well, that’s what I’m here to find out.

Trying a few flakes…sweet corn flakes. Basically Frosted Flakes. Perfectly pleasant. And I do like how the sugar crystals on the flakes glisten.
Now to add the milk. I have some 2% from the stroganoff and mashed potatoes I made last night.
It’s certainly crunchy! I’m not sure about the “magic” aspect, but I think we can chalk that up to marketing/alliteration as much as anything.
And again, it’s perfectly pleasant to eat. They’re sweet corn flakes—Frosted Flakes by another name—and if that’s an appealing prospect, you’ll find them quite agreeable.
But you’re not buying this cereal because you’re hungry. You’re buying it to commemorate Mahomes and/or this Super Bowl, and/or to support his foundation. Which are perfectly valid reasons to buy a box. I’ll probably hold on to the box itself as a souvenir.
But if all you want is a bowl of cereal, well, you probably weren’t even considering it.
