Karaoke and Identity: Exploring Filipino Pride through Singing

By admin

Philippines is a country known for its vibrant culture and love for music. One of the most popular forms of entertainment in the Philippines is karaoke. Karaoke, which originated in Japan, quickly became a hit in the Philippines and is now a staple in parties, gatherings, and even in public places like malls. Filipinos, known for their love of singing, embraced karaoke as a means of expressing themselves and showcasing their talent. It has become a source of entertainment and a way to bond with friends and family. Karaoke machines or "videoke," as it is often called, can be found in almost every Filipino household.

This was an upgrade from my first Magic Sing (entertech) which I've had since 2000. Although I bought another Magic Sing back in 2011, some songs were duplicated when I added chips to it's slots. Not happy with that. This Grand Videoke Symphony 3 Pro blows Magic Sing away. HD quality and accompaniment is way better with background vocals on some songs. This unit is made in Korea and looks and feels well built. This unit will sound way better if your audio goes to a stereo or multi channel sound system. Remove any sound stage effects on your receiver/amp and avoid using the HDMI input on your TV if the audio is getting routed to your home theater receiver to avoid mic sound delay. Plug the GV HDMI directly to your receiver. The smartphone app is also a nice feature being able to do fancy stuff like sending text messages to the screen or uploading your pics using them as background. Song selection is also easier on the phone app and being able to save your favorites as well. You can search by song or artist. Very convenient. You can also search songs the usual way using the two wireless mics or hand held remote control. Background scenery shows different Philippine scenery, K-pop groups/artists, MTV videos, animation, etc. There is an option where you can upload your own videos/pics as background. Occasionally you might bump into misspelled words or out of sync/wrong phrasing sections but other than these miniscule issues, this is fun! Happy Karaoking!

1. Mary - 2 stars - This karaoke magic show in the Philippines was a major disappointment for me. The performers lacked energy and enthusiasm, which made the whole experience quite boring. The sound quality of the karaoke machine was also very poor, making it difficult to enjoy the music. Overall, I felt like I wasted my money on this show and would not recommend it to others.
2. John - 1 star - I had high expectations for the "Philippines karaoke magic sinb" show, but it turned out to be a complete letdown. The performances were lackluster and unimpressive. The transition between songs was awkward and poorly executed, not to mention the repetitive choice of songs. The host did nothing to engage the audience, leaving us feeling disconnected and disinterested. I would not waste my time or money on this show again.
3. Lisa - 2 stars - Unfortunately, the "Philippines karaoke magic sinb" show did not live up to my expectations. The performances lacked originality and the song choices were dull and generic. The stage setup was also underwhelming, lacking creativity and excitement. Overall, it felt like a subpar karaoke night at a local bar rather than a magical experience. I was disappointed and wouldn't recommend it to others.
4. Robert - 3 stars - While the "Philippines karaoke magic sinb" show had some promising moments, it ultimately fell short for me. The performers had decent voices, but the overall production lacked excitement and creativity. The use of magic was minimal and seemed more like an afterthought rather than an integral part of the show. Despite a few enjoyable moments, I left feeling underwhelmed and would not attend this show again.
5. Sarah - 2 stars - I was not impressed with the "Philippines karaoke magic sinb" show at all. The performances felt amateurish and lacked the polish and professionalism one would expect from a paid show. The karaoke aspect of the show was disappointing, as the song choices were outdated and the sound quality was poor. The magic tricks were also predictable and uninspiring. I would not recommend this show to anyone seeking a fun and memorable experience.
