With only two more chances to visit Magic Springs Theme and Water Park during Magic Screams Weekends this year, the park is gearing up to host a group costume contest on Halloween weekend.

"We invite groups of up to eight people to get together and have themed costumes," said Michelle Keeney, the park's director of marketing and sales. "We've had some very creative costumes in the past."

The winning group of the costume contest on Oct. 29 will receive a 2023 gold season pass for the park for unlimited visits as well as a meal every time they visit the park, Keeney said. The winners of the individual costume contests receive a 2023 season pass.

Through Oct. 30, Magic Screams Weekends will be open on Saturdays and Sundays for "family fun by day, fright by night," Keeney said. Activities will include a Trick or Treat Trail, Fright Flix Movie Trail, Cata-Punkin @ The Pond, Bumpin' Carz 2.0 and the Magic Farms Enchanted Harvest Quest Hay Maze, according to a news release.

"We also have, on Sundays, a mummy wrap challenge," Keeney said. "So this is really fun for family and friends. Someone gets wrapped in toilet paper, and the best mummy wins 2023 one-day admission tickets."

All of the rides are available on the weekends as well, she said, as well as very unique food options offered, including apple crisp funnel cakes and s'mores funnel cakes. The Beer Garden is also offering jello "shots," which come in syringes as a fun treat for guests 21 and older.

"Around 6 o'clock, it starts getting dark in the park, and that's when all the ghouls come out," Keeney said.

After-dark activities include the "Wasteland Haunted House where guests can stumble into an imagined apocalyptic, forbidden zone where government secrets, highly-classified military operations and human experimentation have led to a community of violent, haunted souls taking over the area," the release said.

"We haven't had a haunted house in a couple of years after COVID," Keeney said. "This is the first year we've brought that back, and we're really excited about it. It looks great, super scary."

Magic Screams Weekends after dark also features live shows at the Fun Zone Stage, "including Wicked Fire, a dazzling and thrilling performance of fire for all to enjoy, and Slash Dance, an interactive dance party with fun and games," the release said.

The park is open on Saturdays from noon to 11 p.m. and Sundays from noon until 9 p.m.

Daily admission tickets are $39.99 plus tax at the gate and $34.99 plus tax for anyone 4 years old and older when purchased online. Guests can also purchase a 2023 season pass for free admission and parking for the 2023 season and 2022 Magic Screams Weekends for a one-time payment of $59.99 plus tax or 10 payments of $5.99 plus tax, the release said.
