The curse of stfad is a phenomenon that affects many people in today's fast-paced society. Stfad stands for "short attention span for" and refers to the inability to focus on one thing for a sustained period of time. With the advent of technology and the rise of social media, our attention spans have been decreasing rapidly. We have become accustomed to scrolling through endless feeds of information, checking our phones constantly for notifications, and jumping from one task to another without fully completing any of them. This curse of stfad has profound effects on our productivity and overall well-being. It leads to increased stress and anxiety as we struggle to keep up with the constant influx of information.

Occult (Typeface)

Between 2019 and 2022, I designed and refined my new typeface to accompany my illustrations. Occult is a modern blackletter based on old Germanic typefaces from the 12th to 17th century and was designed in Adobe Illustrator and Glyphs. Collectively, my typefaces have been downloaded and used over 200.000 times.

It leads to increased stress and anxiety as we struggle to keep up with the constant influx of information. We find it difficult to concentrate on complex tasks that require deep thinking and analysis. Moreover, the curse of stfad affects our relationships and social interactions.

Curse of stfad

We have become so used to quick, bite-sized interactions online that we struggle to engage in meaningful conversations in person. We may find ourselves constantly checking our phones or getting distracted during face-to-face interactions. The curse of stfad also contributes to a decrease in creativity and innovation. It is during periods of deep focus and concentration that we come up with our best ideas and solutions. However, with our short attention spans, we rarely allow ourselves the time and space for these moments of insightful thinking. To overcome the curse of stfad, it is important to make a conscious effort to practice mindfulness and focus on the present moment. This can be done through activities such as meditation, deep breathing exercises, and unplugging from technology. Setting specific goals and prioritizing tasks can also help in staying focused and avoiding distractions. In conclusion, the curse of stfad is a real challenge in today's fast-paced society. It affects our productivity, relationships, and creativity. However, with awareness and conscious effort, we can overcome this curse and regain control over our attention..
