When the Doctor said, "No, ?1 scrape them myself; you might scrape some of them up." I asked him what difference that would make. I noticed all the people (and there were several who had come to hear what the Doctor thought was the matter with the woman) wearing a scowl on their face at my questioning the Doctor's methods, so I shut up like a clam and relaxed into a silent observer. You go and dig about a peck of sweet taters and pick out the biggest ones and bake several good and brown; and you go and get me about a half gallon of sweet milk about a day old, with all the cream still on it.
