It has done quite well for me, and I can recommend this paddle as a basic, recreational paddle for a kayak or canoe.

I have had no issues with the push-button which assembles, and disassembles the shaft. The drips rings seem to divert only a small amount of the water, despite trying them in various positions along the shaft. Not a big deal, since going canoeing with my dog I expect to get at least a little wet!
