Witch Hats & Brooms Cookies

  • 5 cups flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 cup granulated sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • Witches hat and broom cookie cutters

Cookies Directions:

Cream together the softened butter and sugar until smooth. Add eggs and vanilla, then continue mixing.

Sift in the flour, baking powder, and salt into the mixture until well blended.

Form a ball from the dough and wrap it in cling wrap completely covering the dough ball and put in the refrigerator overnight or 6+ hours to chill.

Pull the cookie dough out of the refrigerator and allow to soften just a little bit. Sprinkle flour onto a wood cutting board and coat a rolling pin lightly in flour. Work some flour into the batter as you roll out the dough so that it is still tacky in texture, but doesn’t completely stick to the rolling pin. Don’t over add flour or the cookies will be stiff.

Roll out the dough and use your witches hat and broom cookie cutters to cut out your cookies. Line the cookie sheet with parchment paper.

Using a metal spatula move the cut cookie to the parchment lined cookie sheet.

Bake at 325 degrees for 8 minutes. Check to see if the cookie are thoroughly baked.

Take the cookies off of the cookie sheet and put on a wire rack to cool completely. (About 10 minutes).

1. Emily - 2 stars - I must say I was quite disappointed with the witch hat sugar cookies. Despite their cute Halloween-themed appearance, the taste was rather underwhelming. I had high hopes for these cookies, but sadly, they did not live up to my expectations.
2. John - 2.5 stars - I'm not usually one to write negative reviews, but I can't help but express my disappointment with the witch hat sugar cookies. While they looked enticing with their witch hat shape and festive sprinkles, the actual taste left much to be desired. The cookies were quite bland and lacked any depth of flavor. Additionally, the texture was dry and crumbly, making them difficult to enjoy. Overall, I wouldn't recommend these cookies if you're looking for a satisfying treat.
3. Samantha - 3 stars - I had mixed feelings about the witch hat sugar cookies. On one hand, the presentation was cute, and I appreciated the effort put into making them festive. However, the taste fell flat for me. The cookies were a bit too sweet for my liking, and the icing had an artificial flavor. While they weren't terrible, I expected more from these cookies, considering their unique design. I wouldn't mind giving them another chance in the future, but they are certainly not my first choice of cookies.
