Given that I took an intro stats course this past quarter, I thought it would be worthwhile to give the topic a deeper look, and in doing so both refresh my own knowledge and teach y'all some basic stats.

Style of Play: Dungeon Crawl mostly. But remember to have some social skills for later portions of the game since any one player gets one character until it is killed. Also you can avoid combat with talking, or clever ideas perusing other skills.
Allowed Content: PHB, DMG, Unearthed Arcana can be used but has to be presented in a case-by-case basis. Most stuff is okay, but please avoid psionics.
Character Creation: Mythweavers
Backstory: No matter from which world you are, the Mists carry you to Barovia, resembling a grey gothic town under a perpetual creeping fog and long shadows. So Eberron, Faerun and Greyhawk characters are allowed for now. Deities can be picked (or created randomly) as the most fitting powers in Barovia will grant you similar powers.
Experience: 1-3, starting with first level characters
Wealth: Starting gear
Ability Scores: 27 pb.
Hitpoints/Health: Max for your first hit-die, and average for the rest.
Alignment: I do not care which. But priority should be to be a team player.
Other Notes: This adventure is the intro to a much larger campaign called Curse of Strahd which explains in detail why you are suddenly in the town of Barovia. I use the adventure to gauge my interest in DMing and your interest in actually staying for the long run. Levelling up will not be done by XP but by reaching certain check points.
