Mastering the Craft of Writing with Rachel Burge

By admin

During the weekend, I had the pleasure of attending a webinar session hosted by Rachel Burge, a renowned expert in climate change and sustainability. The session titled "Warming the Earth: Understanding the Climate Crisis and Taking Action" delved into the alarming issue of global warming and its consequences for our planet. Rachel began by presenting various scientific evidence and data that paint a clear picture of the current state of our climate. She explained how human activities, particularly the burning of fossil fuels, have contributed to a significant increase in greenhouse gas emissions. These emissions trap heat in the Earth's atmosphere, leading to a rise in average global temperatures. One of the most thought-provoking aspects of the session was the discussion about the impacts of global warming.

Maintaining lake fountains and aerators is straightforward. As part of an Annual Management Program, aquatic specialists visually inspect the system regularly throughout the season, removing any build-up and debris, and looking for signs of damage to cables, panel boxes, or equipment. In northern regions of the country that experience long periods of freezing, professionals may recommend physically removing and storing fountains to prevent damage to the equipment. However, in less cold regions they can be excellent tools to maintain open water all winter long.

A holistic maintenance plan incorporates a variety of solutions, including water quality testing, nutrient remediation, biological bacteria, shoreline restoration, mechanical hydro-raking, and other strategies that support the longevity of the waterbody. Larger units that require greater horsepower to move water, like fountains and surface aerators, may require 240-volts the same voltage used for most home dryers and water heaters.

One of the most thought-provoking aspects of the session was the discussion about the impacts of global warming. Rachel emphasized that the consequences go beyond warmer temperatures; they include more frequent and intense natural disasters such as hurricanes, droughts, and wildfires. She also highlighted the threat of rising sea levels, which endanger coastal communities and ecosystems.

A straight and angled LED light ring for wider coverage, available light color for selection in all cold(snow) white, or all warm(soft) white, or RBG color changing, light ring power cord is 32".

Three 2" diameter spraying pattern nozzles: Trumpet shape pattern nozzle, water sprays about 12' high, 9' wide; Crown pattern nozzle, water sprays about 9' high, 38' wide; and M shape pattern nozzle, water sprays about 9' high, 18' wide.

Setting up:
PJ8000QL52 fountain is not a floating fountain, depending on depth of your pond, a supporting object(such as bricks) is needed to put under the pump to raise the fountain to the level that the light ring comes out of the water surface.
Fountain height(from bottom of pump to nozzle top) is 14".

M shape pattern, water sprays about 5' high, 12' wide.

Trumpet shape pattern, water sprays about 5' high.

Optional 33' extendtion cord EC33 for light(original light cord length is 33').
