The spellbinding landscape unfolded before me, a tapestry of vibrant colors and dazzling sights that defied imagination. Acts returning for this season’s tour include audience favorites, Rola Bola performer and Unicyclist Jonathan Rinney, Juggler Christopher Stoinev and Foot Juggling Duo Ray Rodriguez Lara and Henry D’Boyd Collado Green. Attendees of all ages will be amazed and delighted by performances that have also entertained TV audiences on America’s Got Talent and The Late Show. Dazzling artists include Lyra hoop aerial acrobats, a high-flying foot juggling duo, a breathtaking aerial straps pair, a contortion flying streetlamp act, and much more.

During Christmas at the Mansion, every room is dressed with authentic period decorations - from streamers in the children s room to poinsettias, holly branches and gorgeous ribbons in other rooms and parlors.

The Wilson Center at Cape Fear Community College is excited to announce A MAGICAL CIRQUE CHRISTMAS, a comedic, musical, and magic-filled holiday experience that makes a perfect date night, fun family adventure, and group outing. The tour heads to Wilmington on Dec. 15, 2022 at 7:30 p.m. World-acclaimed performers and cirque artists take audiences back in time, immersing them in the spirit of the season and performing Christmas classics through the decades.
The Christmas tale begins as the Guardian of Time, who manages the changing of the seasons with his giant magical clock, finds himself less than thrilled to face the countdown to the 2022 holidays. In other words, he’s not feeling it. An optimistic, magical Christmas fairy played by the glamourous and comedic magician Lucy Darling whom David Copperfield calls “a true original – hilarious and delightful; An EXCEPTIONAL new talent in magic” and the Chicago Tribune calls her “immensely entertaining” appears to help but despite her best intentions, causes time to go haywire when she breaks the clock.
The story jumps along the time spectrum with visits to the rollicking 1920s a la The Great Gatsby style, the rockabilly 1950s, the boogie-oogie 1970s, and a classic Victorian 1890s London reminiscent of Charles Dickens, and is accompanied by beautiful holiday music from each period. To keep the clock ticking, Lucy Darling uses all her skills with jaw-dropping tricks and amazing feats of illusion, including a levitation that requires a bit of audience participation.

Tickets will be available online to Wilson Center Members beginning 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 14, 2022, with tickets going on sale online to the general public on Monday, July 18, 2022, at 10 a.m. Please note that this is anticipated to be a full-capacity event, and will adhere to all local and state guidelines at the time of the show. This walk-through light show at the State Botanical Garden of Georgia in Athens features illuminated displays along a half-mile path that is certain to delight and inspire. At Winter WonderLights, wander through a Winter Wondercave, along Jingle Bell Lane and through a Cone Tree Forest while you enjoy hot chocolate and cookies, and shop for gifts in the holiday market. The half-mile trail takes 45-60 minutes to complete and is fully ADA-accessible.

With each step, I could feel myself drawing closer to the heart of this mysterious place, a place where dreams and reality melded together seamlessly. Along the way, I encountered fellow travelers, each with their own unique story and purpose. Some were seekers of knowledge, their eyes alight with a hunger for understanding the mysteries of the universe. Others were wanderers, in search of a place to call their own, a sanctuary amidst the chaos of the everyday world. Yet, despite our individual goals, we were united by a shared sense of awe and wonderment. Each conversation was a dance of ideas, an exchange of experiences that breathed life into the very fabric of this magical realm. It was as if the highways themselves were conduits of knowledge, connecting us all in a never-ending tapestry of stories. As the sun began to set, casting a golden glow across this fantastical land, I realized that the true magic of these highways was not in the sights or the stories, but in the sense of belonging and connection they inspired. In this realm, anything was possible, and each moment was a chance to discover new wonders. And so, upon the magical highways shimmering, I ventured forth with an open heart and a curious mind, ready to embrace the endless possibilities that awaited me. For in this realm of enchantment, the only limit was the extent of my imagination..

1. John - 2 stars - I was really looking forward to reading "Upon the magical highways shimmering", but I ended up being disappointed. The plot was confusing and all over the place, making it hard for me to stay engaged. I also found the characters to be one-dimensional and lacking depth. The writing style was also not my cup of tea, with overly flowery descriptions that seemed forced. Overall, I couldn't connect with the story and it left me feeling unsatisfied.

The supposed magical elements felt forced and unoriginal, and the world-building was poorly executed.
