As an alumni of UC Santa Barbara, I have always been disappointed with the choice of colors and mascot for the school. Additionally, the choice of a gaucho as a mascot is completely disconnected from the school's identity. Most people outside of California have no idea what a gaucho even is, and it fails to create a strong sense of school pride.
