"The Curse of Humbly Dumpy Trailer" Once upon a time, in the small town of Dumpyville, there stood a humble trailer on the outskirts. This trailer belonged to a kind-hearted woman named Agnes, who lived a simple and contented life. However, little did she know that her seemingly ordinary trailer was cursed, carrying with it a future of misfortune. One gloomy evening, Agnes was sitting on her porch, admiring the scenic beauty of the surrounding countryside, when a mysterious old woman appeared out of thin air. The old woman was draped in tattered clothing, with a crooked back and an eerie aura. She warned Agnes about the curse that had befallen her trailer, and how it would bring trouble and despair into her life.

She warned Agnes about the curse that had befallen her trailer, and how it would bring trouble and despair into her life. Agnes, being humble and resilient, did not believe in curses and dismissed the old woman's warning. She continued about her daily routine, blissfully unaware of the disaster waiting to strike.

Maid's (and her family's) day out! A chance conversation with our house help, made me realize that while we get our so-called rest day(s) every week, most of them don't. Weekends are also busier because that's when their employers also sometimes play host to their friends and family. As a result, our maid never got to spend time with her daughters as they were growing up. No family outings except for the occasional trip to the hometown. So we decided to give them a surprise and booked tickets for a movie in the local mall. It was their first time in the mall (and the first time after her wedding that she went to a movie) and the family was really over the moon with the experience!! We of course are super thrilled that we could play a part. Such are the small pleasures of life.. #dogood #socialgood

We got a different perspective from our maid. When we proposed if the maid wanted to go with us for optional outing for fun or when we proposed giving her any gift which was not absolute necessity, she said please give me the money instead. Her exact words were - "I will not enjoy that movie for 500 bucks. I am not used to sit on those plush chairs. I will go to my village movie theatre instead for 50 rupees and the remaining 450 rupees will feed my entire family for a few days. I can fix some things in my house, buy some books for my child. That is more important for me than to enjoy some luxuries of life occasionally." This opened my eyes and henceforth, I always gave them hard cash instead of any in kind gifts which is more helpful to them. Just a different perspective.

People were inspired by her unwavering determination and resilience, rallying together to offer their support and friendship once more.
