As an alumni of Texas Tech, I was disappointed with the new mascot designation. The decision to replace the traditional "Raider Red" with a live animal mascot is not only unnecessary but also poses potential risks to both the animal and the fans. The live animal mascot may not be able to handle the stress and noise of large crowds and could potentially harm someone unintentionally. Furthermore, it is a departure from the traditions and spirit that Texas Tech has built over the years. I hope they reconsider this decision and stick to their original mascot.

I can't believe Texas Tech went through with the new mascot designation. It's a complete disaster. The live animal doesn't even look like a suitable representation of what a mascot should be. It doesn't evoke any sense of school pride or spirit. Additionally, the cost associated with maintaining a live animal mascot is absurd. There are so many other ways the university could have invested that money into improving the overall student experience. I truly hope Texas Tech reevaluates their decision and brings back a more fitting mascot for the institution.
