Do you believe in magic? Mia does. She understands that real magic comes from deep within a person. How is that possible? Well, she sees a new girl sitting all alone in the cafeteria and makes the effort to be friendly. Both Mia and the new girl feel sparkly with joy. The others sitting at Mia’s lunch table also feel the sparkly joy and they pass it on. When Mia is having trouble with math, a boy offers to help and they both feel sparkly with joy. And the new girl helps an elderly lady by holding the door for her. The magic pays it forward and everyone is feeling sparkly with joy. Yes, there is real magic and it comes from deep inside each of us.

Julie Cassetta’s picture book story, Magical Mia: Kindness is Contagious, is told in rhyming verse. With its eloquent lyricism, young readers will be singing along and perhaps adding their own suggestions of how to spread the magic. The plot develops with Mia’s sparkle about her magic secret, which is then shared in multiple ways and, in the end, everyone is helping someone else and spreading the magic of caring. The illustrations are beautiful and almost magical in themselves and certainly help carry the story along. This is a great way to introduce the notion of paying kindness forward – it really does have a charming magic all of its own. And, to top off the story, the author provides a list at the end of the book suggesting ways young readers can share the magic by being kind, caring, and helpful. Beautifully told.

Reviews for "Captivating Children's Imaginations: The Teletubbies' Magic Pumpkin"

1. Sarah - 2/5
I was really disappointed with "Teletubbies: The Magic Pumpkin." I used to watch the original Teletubbies as a child, and this new version just doesn't live up to the magic and charm of the original. The storyline felt forced and lacking in creativity, and the characters seemed to be going through the motions without any real enthusiasm. Overall, it felt like a poor attempt to cash in on the success of the original series.
2. Jason - 1/5
I'm sorry, but "Teletubbies: The Magic Pumpkin" was just plain awful. I couldn't even make it through the whole episode. The new characters introduced were uninteresting and added nothing to the story. The plot was predictable and cliché, and the whole thing felt like a cheap attempt to market Halloween-themed merchandise. I'll stick to the original Teletubbies, thank you very much.
3. Emily - 2/5
I used to love Teletubbies as a kid, so I was excited to watch "Teletubbies: The Magic Pumpkin" with my younger siblings. However, I found the new episode to be quite underwhelming. The animation and production quality seemed to have taken a step back, and the storyline was repetitive and lackluster. It felt like a lazy attempt to revive the series without putting in any real effort. I'll stick to the old episodes for my Teletubbies fix.
4. David - 2/5
"Teletubbies: The Magic Pumpkin" just didn't capture the nostalgia and magic of the original series. The characters lacked the charm and personality that made the original so endearing, and the plot was boring and unoriginal. The new elements introduced in this episode felt forced and out of place. I was really hoping for a return to the Teletubbies I knew and loved, but unfortunately, this episode fell flat for me.
