Sarah Osborne, also spelled as Osboren, was one of the accused witches during the infamous Salem Witch Trials that took place in Salem, Massachusetts in 1692. Sarah Osborne was born in England and later immigrated to the American colonies. She married an indentured servant named Robert Prince and settled in Topsfield, a town near Salem. Osborne, considered an outsider in the conservative Puritan community, found herself in a vulnerable position. In the early months of 1692, the Salem Village experienced a series of mysterious and unexplained afflictions. This led the community to search for answers and eventually became convinced that the cause of these afflictions was witchcraft.

Sarah Osborne was accused by a young girl named Abigail Williams, who claimed to be afflicted by her.
Gunna Announces Album ‘A Gift & A Curse’ Release Date

Gunna is wasting no time and is ready to get back to making music. The Georgia native will be releasign A Gift & A Curse Friday (June 16), according to his recent post on social media.
“a Gift & a Curse from Me To You ! [P emoji]Day!, the rapper wrote on Instagram alongside the album artwork featuring an paintbrush effect portrait of him with a skull on top of his head.
The rapper gave no additional details regarding the album such as features, tracklist, or runtime.
This announcement follows his first single post-jail release titled, “Bread & Butter.” In “Bread & Butter,” he addresses the snitch rumors. This comes after his controversial plea deal in the ongoing RICO case against Young Thug’s Young Slime Life (YSL) collective. In the case, prosecutors allege that the group is not a rap collective but a criminal street gang.
In the second verse, he defends himself against the rumors. He calls out what role others played in his release. “F— I pay the lawyers all those mills for?/ Just so I won’t have to say a word to dodge a railroad,” he raps, before echoing past sentiments on him not being a rat. “Never gave no statement or agreed to take no stand on ’em/ On whatever you n—– on, then trust me, I’ma stand on it/ Lawyers and the D.A. did some sneaky s—, I fell for it/ On my Ps and Qs because this time, I be prepared for it.”

The criminal justice system is not the only party that was called out in Gunna’s return. The rapper pointed a finger at Lil Baby, who Gunna says is in business with a snitch.
“Peepin’ s—, I’m seein’ n—– fall back/ You bitch-a– n—– got me as the topic of the chat/ You switched on me when you know you in business with a rat/ And the boy that’s like your brother, and nobody speak on that,” he raps about his “Drip Harder” collaborator.

Williams accused Osborne of tormenting her with attacks and causing her great pain. The accusations against Osborne quickly spread, and other girls, including Ann Putnam Jr. and Mercy Lewis, also claimed to be afflicted by her. As the hysteria of the witch trials escalated, Sarah Osborne was arrested in early March 1692, along with two other women, Tituba and Sarah Good. Despite denying the accusation of practicing witchcraft, Osborne was examined by the court and subjected to questioning. Some villagers testified against Osborne, accusing her of being a witch who associated with the devil. Sarah Osborne's trial was delayed due to her poor health. She was elderly and weak, suffering from various physical ailments. Unfortunately, Sarah Osborne's health continued to decline while awaiting trial, and she died in jail on May 10, 1692, before a final verdict could be reached. Even though Sarah Osborne did not go through a formal trial and was unable to defend herself fully, her death did not exempt her from being condemned as a witch. Her death was viewed by many as a sign of divine justice and further fueled the belief that she was indeed guilty of witchcraft. The Salem Witch Trials were a dark chapter in American history, driven by religious hysteria and superstition. Sarah Osborne's case is an example of how individuals who did not conform to societal norms or who had personal conflicts could easily become targets of accusations and persecution.
