The Best Witchy Stores in Salem, MA

SAVE YOUR MONEY FOR SALEM! If you are the least bit interested in witchy things, antiques, and magical keepsakes from your visit to Salem, bring money to shop! There are so many amazing and uniquely decorated stores in Salem. Many are themed and play music to go along with the entire vibe of the shop (e.g. Practical Magic soundtrack, Harry Potter soundtrack).

Even if you don’t buy a single thing, it’s still worth going into these interesting shops. It was one of the highlights of my trip, and I brought back some really beautiful things including some crystals, two necklaces, candles, and an antique brass candlestick.

Here’s my round-up of the best witchy stores in Salem, MA!

  1. 1) Crow Haven Corner
  2. 2) Remember Salem Gifts
  3. 3) Wynott's Wands
  4. 4) HausWitch Home + Healing
  5. 5) Emporium 32
  6. 6) Diehl Marcus & Co.
  7. 7) The Coven's Cottage
  8. 8) Enchanted
  9. 9) Die With Your Boots On
  10. 10) The Witchery

Crow Haven Corner

Outlined in a glowing purple aura at night, Crow Haven Corner is the oldest witch shop in Salem, MA.

They sell a wide range of magical supplies including occult books, herbs, crystals, spell kits, candles, incense, potions, mojo bags as well as jewelry, t-shirts, and gifts.

At this store, you can also schedule a psychic reading or cast a spell at Lorelei’s Spell Altar in her Egyptian room. Lorelei is a psychic reader and Salem Witch. For 35 years, she has specialized in tarot cards, palmistry, and mediumship. A 30-minute session is $90 for a combination of a tarot card reading, palmistry reading, health scan, and a Spell.

Remember Salem Gifts

Nearby Crow Haven Corner is Remember Salem, a must-visit for any Harry Potter fan. They sell licensed Harry Potter merchandise but they’re not an official Warner Brothers or J.K. Rowling shop.

Here you can try Butterbeer - it’s a butterscotch flavor, though I found it much too sweet for my taste!

In the back of the shop is the Salem Witch Board Museum - the world’s only museum dedicated to the history and mystery of Witch Boards. This small room features one of the largest collections of Ouija and Witch Boards.

Wynott's Wands

Wynott's Wands is next door to Remember Salem Gifts and looks like the wand shop straight out of Harry Potter.

A variety of handmade wands line the walls of this shop - shelves are stacked high with wand boxes and other wizardly items.

The attention to detail in this shop is truly impressive. Though not factual, Wynott’s claims that they’ve been providing wands to witches and wizards since 1692 (Salem Witch Trials). Wands start at $29.

HausWitch Home + Healing

HausWitch Home & Healing is a truly magical, special place.

There is such good energy in this shop right when you enter. The women that work there are super informative, but never pushy. I loved the light and airy vibes there.

Many of the shops are dimly lit and have a darker vibe (which is totally great) but HausWitch is a stark contrast to this with light wood décor and large windows that allow in bright rays of sunshine.

HausWitch describes itself as a “modern metaphysical lifestyle brand that combines the principles of earth magic, intentionality, interior decorating, and intersectional feminism to bring magic and healing into everyday spaces”. HausWitch was started by Erica Feldman, the author of HausMagick: Transform your Home with Witchcraft .

Among other items, I bought two amazing smelling candles - Hearth (notes of orange spice, fir and pine smoke to replicate the wood smoke from a warm fire) and The Witches (notes of smoke, vetiver, and spruce).

Going into HausWitch made me never want to leave. If I could bottle up this energy and take it with me everywhere, I would. It gives very strong Practical Magic vibes. It seems like a joy to work there, and if you can’t tell. I’m obsessed!

Emporium 32

Emporium 32 is best described as a vintage lifestyle boutique with items that will appeal to both men and women.

It’s a whimsical and eccentric shop with a little of everything including home décor, brooches, hats, clothing, accessories, jewelry, magic supplies, trinkets, books, and more. I loved the music playing inside - very on-brand and made me feel like I was in an old-timey Gatsby-era general store with a touch of steampunk.

Many of the products at Emporium 32 are vintage or artist-made. There’s a lot to see in this store, so take your time exploring and appreciating all the details. If you’re trying to shop for more than one person with very different tastes, this is a good shop for you. Don’t forget to get a cheeky fortune from Zoltar!

Diehl Marcus & Co.

Just across from Emporium 32 is the stately Diehl Marcus & Co. - a neighborhood curio shop, apothecary goods and event space. What an elegant joy this shop is! As you climb the steps of this residential-looking shop, you feel like you’re visiting an old friend on the East Coast.

The owners of Diehl Marcus & Co., husband and wife Christian Marcus and Erika Diehl, are as sweet as could be AND they have impeccable taste. Not only do they sell luxury teas, soaps, and candles, but they also curate and sell a wide variety of antique and vintage goods. This pair truly has a sense of refined elegance and it shows in the careful curation and placement of each item in the shop. Antiques are seamlessly woven into the room’s overall aesthetic as if you’ve just stumbled into the study of a local wealthy merchant that once would have roamed the streets of Salem.

I couldn’t help but get yet another candle as well as a couple antique brass items! I chose the Baker Street Luxury Candle (notes of Cinnamon, Vanilla, Clove, and Cream) - I can’t wait to start burning it this winter holiday season!

Reviews for "The Magic of the Salem Witch Shops: Where History and the Occult Merge"

1. Emily - 1 star
I was really excited to visit the Salem witch shops during my trip to Salem, but I was incredibly disappointed with the experience. The shops were overrun with cheesy and tacky merchandise, lacking any real historical or educational value. I expected to find authentic artifacts or informative exhibits, but instead, I found rows of generic trinkets and poorly made witch-themed souvenirs. It felt more like a tourist trap than a place for genuine learning or appreciation of the Salem witch trials. I would not recommend wasting your time or money on these shops.
2. John - 2 stars
I visited the Salem witch shops with high expectations, but I left feeling underwhelmed. The shops had a great concept and potential, but the execution fell short. The merchandise was overpriced and of questionable quality. Additionally, the staff seemed disinterested and lacked knowledge about the history of the Salem witch trials. It would have been nice to have a more immersive and educational experience instead of just browsing through poorly organized shelves of generic items. I wouldn't go out of my way to visit the Salem witch shops again.
3. Sarah - 2 stars
As an enthusiast of the Salem witch trials, I was excited to explore the Salem witch shops. However, I found them to be quite disappointing. The shops were overcrowded with tourists, making it difficult to navigate and fully enjoy the experience. The merchandise was overpriced and lacked authenticity. I was hoping to find unique and educational items related to the trials, but all I found were mass-produced trinkets and gimmicky souvenirs. It's a shame that such an important part of history is trivialized in these shops. I would recommend seeking out more reputable sources for information and souvenirs related to the Salem witch trials.
