The idea of riding a magic carpet has fascinated people for centuries, capturing their imaginations and transporting them to a world of fantasy and wonder. The concept of the magic carpet originated from ancient legends and tales, where skilled sorcerers and powerful genies would grant wishes and provide a means of transportation through their enchanted carpets. These magical carpets were said to possess the ability to fly and carry their passengers to distant lands with incredible speed. Riding a magic carpet is often portrayed as a thrilling and exhilarating experience. As you climb aboard, you feel a sense of anticipation and excitement, knowing that you are about to embark on an extraordinary journey.
After finishing school Tom began to travel abroad as much as possible in search of better waves. During a degree in English at the University of Glamorgan, the Student Loans Company funded a large proportion of the travel which went on to form the basis of the Magic Carpet storyline.
With their vast open hangar decks, aircraft carriers proved ideal for transport duties, though vessel of all shapes and sizes from battleships to modified LSTs landing ship tank participated. If contestant s foot or any other part of the body comes off the mat during the game, they must immediately stop and place themselves correctly back on the mat before continuing the game.

As the carpet takes off, you are abruptly lifted into the air, leaving the ground far behind. Magic Carpet Ride
In this challenge, a grown-up will transform a standard bath mat into a household luge. Mimicking the push-and-pull motion of the inchworm, the contestant must race the upside-down mat through a preset obstacle course and across the finish line.

Player must sit on a bathroom floor mat and use an inchworm technique to move around obstacles.
History [ ]
This is a multi-level challenge, having been played at levels 3 and 4, whereas in level 4, two contestants play as a team and must race the upside-down mats around the stage in a semi-circle and across the other player's starting line.
Household Items: [ ]
- 1 standard bath mat
- 3 Obstacles(Toilet brush, plunger, paper roll) or 4 toilet brushes with holders(team version only)
- smooth floor with start/finish line
Set Up: [ ]
Set up 3 obstacles in a line in front of the start line. Player begins game sitting on bathmat with fuzzy side down. When the clock starts, player may begin moving across floor using the designated inchworm motion to move around the obstacles. Player may slalom in any direction around the obstacles, then turn around and slalom back past the same obstacles.
Rules: [ ]
1. Prior to game start, contestant is seated on the mat in the designated start zone with no body parts directly touching the floor.
2. Once game begins, the contestant may begin moving with the bath mat in the designated "inchworm" manner.
Pushing and pulling is the magic of the carpet.
3. Contestant may not make forward progress while touching the floor directly with any part of the body.
4. Contestant must slalom in either direction around all three markers and then return slalom past the same three markers.
5. If contestant's foot or any other part of the body comes off the mat during the game, they must immediately stop and place themselves correctly back on the mat before continuing the game.
6. To complete the game, contestant must slalom the course to the end and back and the bath mat must cross the start/finish line entirely within the 60-second time limit.
Tips & Tricks [ ]
- Practice the inchworm motion: It's important to get a feel for the inchworm motion and to be comfortable moving around on the mat. You can practice this motion by sitting on the mat and moving your arms and legs in a coordinated way to push and pull the mat forward.
- Plan your route around the obstacles: Before you start the game, take a moment to look at the obstacles and plan the most efficient route around them. You may find it helpful to slalom back and forth in a zig-zag pattern, or to go straight through the middle of the obstacles.
- Keep your body centered on the mat: As you move around the course, try to keep your body centered on the mat. This will help you to maintain your balance and control.
- Use your arms to help propel the mat: You can use your arms to help push and pull the mat around the course. This can give you extra power and control as you move around the obstacles.
- Remember to practice your arm movements and to coordinate them with your leg movements to improve your technique and speed.
