A Musical Force: Pantera's Metal Magic Infiltrates the Mainstream

By admin

Pantera is an American heavy metal band that emerged in the 1980s and gained significant popularity in the 1990s. Known for their aggressive sound and intense stage presence, Pantera became one of the most influential metal bands of all time. Their unique blend of groove metal and thrash metal created a new subgenre known as "Pantera metal," which inspired countless bands in the years to come. One of the defining aspects of Pantera's music is the incredible musicianship displayed by each member of the band. Dimebag Darrell, the band's guitarist, is considered one of the greatest guitarists in the history of metal. His fast and intricate guitar solos, coupled with his aggressive rhythm playing, are signature elements of Pantera's sound.

Pantera: Metal Magic [1983]

Metal Magic is the first album by the heavy metal band Pantera, released in 1983 (see 1983 in music). [2] Like the band’s next three releases, this album was musically oriented toward a hard rock/heavy metal sound influenced by Kiss and Van Halen, rather than the groove metal style they became famous for playing in the 1990s, [3] starting with the release of Cowboys from Hell. It was released on the band’s own label (also called Metal Magic) and produced by Jerry Abbott (under the alias “The Eldn'”), notable country music songwriter and producer, and father of Dimebag Darrell andVinnie Paul, who were seventeen and nineteen years old, respectively, at the time of release.

Lyrics

1. Ride My Rocket

in this day and time of metal magic
we need rock and roll
we need PANTERA!

I didn’t wanna touch you
since we were both sixteen
didn’t wanna take you down
and show you what love means
now is the time
this is the place
get ready to take a chance
we don’t have a minute to waste

ride my rocket
wear me out
ride my rocket
make me twist and shout
ride my rocket
give me all of your love
ride my rocket
I just can’t get enough.

You leave me breathless
when you walk by
the way you move it girl
makes you satisfy
You might be the best
that i’ve ever had
it’s gotta be good girl
cuz it looks so bad

ride my rocket
wear me out
ride my rocket
make me twist and shout
ride my rocket
give me all of your love
ride my rocket
I just can’t get enough.

feels so good
makes my heart break
every time you touch me
i explode into flames

ride my rocket
wear me out
ride my rocket
make me twist and shout
ride my rocket
give me all of your love
ride my rocket
I just can’t get enough.

2. I’ll Be Alright

and one of these days out with that game

but you know that you have pack them

I’ll be alright

4. Latest Lover

She’s the talk of the town
gets around

Love her, leave her
For all the wrong reasons
Love her, leave her
You might even

Who’s been your latest lover?
Who’s been in your bed?
Who’s been your latest lover?
Who’s been in your head?

Out on the streets
She ain’t got enough to eat
Making a living off your time

Love her, leave her
For all the wrong reasons
Love her, leave her
You might even

Who’s been your latest lover?
Who’s been in your bed?
Who’s been your latest lover?
Who’s been in your head?

Who’s been your latest lover?
Who’s been in your bed?
Who’s been your latest lover?
Who’s been in your head?

Who’s been your latest lover?
(Your latest lover)
Who’s been in your bed?
Who’s been your latest lover?
Who’s been in your head?

5. Biggest Part Of Me

Babe
I need you again
it’s getting late
i’m getting high
please let me in
Love
i give you all my love
i just need someone to hold on to
won’t you let me in
Girl
you’re the biggest part of me
I need you back in my arms
Girl
You’re the biggest part of me
How long will you leave me out here
in the dark?

Another lonely night
back in silent town
thinkin’ of ways to get you back
in my arms
Lovein’ me all the love you can give
but you’ve got to go
i just can’t live
another day
there’s no other way

Girl
You’re the biggest part of me
I need you back in my arms
Girl
You’re the biggest part of me
How long will you leave me out here
in the dark?

It’s a lonely night
feels like i’m dying inside
all i need is one more chance before I
lose my mind

Girl
You’re the biggest part of me
I need you back in my arms
Girl
You’re the biggest part of me
How long will you leave me out here
in the dark?

6. Metal Magic

when they say don’t look back
do what they say
you gotta look ahead
to a better day
in a world of metal magic
you need a break
go forth
take a chance
make no mistake

Metal magic
metal magic
metal magic
metal magic

they say you can’t go back
oh so true
when you’re a rocker baby
you gotta pay your dues

In a world of metal magic
magic never ends
sometimes you lose
and sometimes you win

Metal magic
Metal magic
Metal magic
Metal magic

Lost in the metal magic
it never ends
sometimes you lose
sometimes you win

Metal magic
Metal magic
Metal magic
Yeah

7. Widowmaker

8. Nothin’ On (But The Radio)

She looks easy
a real lady
she knows what i need
she’s kinda easy
she’s everything you ever wanted in a girl
i’m in love with the way she walks
and i’m not the kinda guy who talks
late at night she gives it everything that she’s got
she’s got
nothin’ on but the radio
late at night, that’s the only way to go
nothin’ on but the radio
she loves dancin’
slow dancin’
walk me away
sweet romancin’
that little girl
she knows how to satisfy man
i love her every way
tell her what i need
she’ll always do ya
and always say please
oh that lil girl she’s got
she’s got
nothin’ on but the radio
nothin’ on but the radio

when i feel the way
that i feel about you girl
so easy
when i’m feelin’ the way that i do
you’re likely to know
whoa

She looks easy
a real lady
she knows what i need
she’s kinda easy
she’s everything you ever wanted in a girl
i’m in love with the way she walks
and i’m not the kinda guy who talks

she’s got
nothin’ on but the radio
late at night, that’s the only way to go
nothin’ on but the radio

You got your ways

Reviews for "The Agony and the Ecstasy: The Emotions of Pantera's Metal Magic"

1. John - 2 stars - I was really disappointed with Pantera's "Metal Magic" songs. The album lacked the raw aggression and intensity that I was expecting from a metal band. The songs felt too polished and commercialized, almost like they were trying too hard to please a mainstream audience. I was hoping for more powerful guitar riffs and intense vocals, but everything felt watered down and generic. Overall, "Metal Magic" just didn't live up to the hype for me.
2. Sarah - 1 star - I cannot understand the appeal of Pantera's "Metal Magic" songs. The album felt like a complete departure from their usual heavy and intense sound. Instead, they went for a more melodic and radio-friendly approach, which just didn't work for me. The songs lacked the aggression and energy that I love in metal music, and the production felt too polished and overproduced. It seemed like Pantera was trying to cater to a different audience, but in doing so, they lost touch with their true identity. I was left feeling disappointed and longing for their earlier, heavier work.
3. Mike - 2.5 stars - "Metal Magic" by Pantera was a letdown for me. It seemed like the band was experimenting with different styles and sounds, but it didn't come together cohesively. The album lacked the consistency and depth that I was expecting from a metal band of their caliber. The songs felt disjointed, and there was a lack of memorable hooks and choruses. Additionally, the vocals and lyrics didn't resonate with me, and I found myself getting bored halfway through the album. Overall, "Metal Magic" just didn't capture my attention or leave a lasting impression.
4. Emily - 2 stars - Pantera's "Metal Magic" fell flat for me. The songs lacked the aggression and intensity that I associate with metal music. It felt like the band was trying too hard to fit into a particular mold, resulting in a lack of originality and creativity. The album had a generic sound, and I found it hard to distinguish one song from another. While there were a few decent moments, overall, "Metal Magic" didn't live up to my expectations and left me underwhelmed. I just couldn't connect with the songs on a deeper level.
