The Summer Solstice: A Sacred Time for Pagans

By admin

The summer solstice, also known as Midsummer, is a significant event in the pagan calendar. It marks the longest day of the year and is a time when the power of the sun is at its peak. This event has been celebrated by various pagan cultures throughout history, and its significance can be seen in the rituals and customs associated with this time of year. One of the main beliefs associated with the summer solstice is the concept of fertility and abundance. As the sun is at its strongest during this time, it is believed to bring about a bountiful harvest and an increase in life force. Many pagan rituals and ceremonies during the summer solstice are centered around invoking these energies of fertility and abundance.

The Putin doll is packed into a coffin, accompanied by a noose and pins with the Ukrainian flag on them.

If Putin can deny that he is backing the vatniks in the east and Crimea, then Voodoo Politics can deny having anything to do with the VATNIK project , Mycio explains. This is not the first time the Russian tyrant got a voodoo doll dedicated to him; back in 2014, the project called VATNIK The Putin Voodoo Magnet had started.

According to research published by Brown University, the word voodoo means spirits and the belief is a religious or magico-religious practice that aims to connect spirits with humans. Traditionally a voodoo doll works by someone pushing the pins into the entirety of its soft body, which is a material incarnation of a person they can control.

Di Di admitted to the Daily Sun, that while she is not a firm believer in such dark magic stuff, her customers are, and they have been buying the doll and pining it, to inflict suffering on the tyrant for starting the war.

She also told the publication that in her online Etsy store, BadCherrybyDD, Putin is the successor to dolls she has made of North Korea's Kim Jong Un and ex-US President Donald Trump. She said, "I don't believe in the power of voodoo dolls, but I think my clients do. I started doing the voodoo dolls in October 2014, (Adopt a Zombie) and then in 2016 a friend told me to do a custom and then I did Donald Trump Voodoo Doll."

"I don't vote, I am not part of any political party, I think is fun. I have Vladimir Putin, Kim Jong Um, Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, a Riot Police and Lebron James.I have different versions, full fabric and digital print with fabric. I probably sold 150 Vladimir Putin so far, but the best seller is Donald Trump and Joe Biden."

This is not the first time the Russian tyrant got a voodoo doll dedicated to him; back in 2014, the project called 'VATNIK: The Putin Voodoo Magnet' had started. It was a project which aimed to raise $5,000 to produce voodoo dolls with Putin's face that could be pinned up with Ukrainian flags. It was a project that started to mock the Russian president when war started between Russia and Ukraine back in February 2014.

Mycio says she agreed to be a public face for the group due to her activity on social networks and previous experience with Kickstarter projects. Having Ukrainian heritage, she quit her job as a lawyer in America and moved to Ukraine in 1991 where she spent 16 years, working as a Los Angeles Times reporter and directing a legal aid program for Ukrainian journalists.
Pagan significance of the summer solstice

People would gather around the fire, sing and dance, and make offerings to the gods. These rituals were seen as a way to ensure a successful harvest and to bring about prosperity and good fortune. The summer solstice is also seen as a time for spiritual reflection and personal growth. Its associations with the sun and light make it a symbol of enlightenment and illumination. Many pagans use this time to meditate and connect with the divine energy within themselves and the world. It is believed that the increased light during this time helps to awaken and activate spiritual energies and to bring about personal transformation. Overall, the pagan significance of the summer solstice lies in its connection to fertility, abundance, and spiritual growth. It is a time to celebrate the power of the sun and to harness its energy for the benefit of oneself and the community. Whether through rituals, bonfires, or personal reflection, pagans embrace the summer solstice as a time of renewal, growth, and connection with the natural world..

This book was a huge disappointment. I was expecting to learn more about the pagan significance of the summer solstice, but instead, I found a lot of historical anecdotes that had little relevance to the topic. The author seemed to go off on tangents that were completely unrelated, and I felt like I wasted my time reading this book.

I wanted to like this book, but it just fell short for me. The author's writing style was difficult to follow, and I found myself getting bored easily. The information provided about the pagan significance of the summer solstice was scattered and lacked depth. I wish there had been more focus on the actual topic instead of unnecessary storytelling.
