The Pagan holiday of Saturnalia was an ancient Roman festival dedicated to the god Saturn. It was a time of great revelry and celebration, during which normal social order was turned upside down. Saturnalia was originally celebrated on December 17th, but over time, it grew to encompass several days, often extending until December 23rd. It was one of the most popular holidays in ancient Rome, and people of all social classes participated in the festivities.
