The dynamic black and white illustrations are already stunning without any color, but the magic begins when you dip your brush into water and start coloring. This is a book that you might order for your child, and then end up loving for yourself! It’s fascinating to watch the colors appear as you paint with just water. I was mesmerized the first time I watched my son paint with the book and asked – no begged – to give it a try! It’s a really satisfying introduction to water colors, too, for children that you don’t quite trust with paints! Since all the Magic Painting books use is water there is no worry about a mess.

I loved these when I was a kid! Try searching for "paint with water" instead of "water painting" and you should get plenty of results. These look great and I might buy some for myself! These are simpler images, and a little different style, but I've never been disappointed in any Melissa&Doug product. And here's a reusable option.
