The curse of La Llorona is a well-known legend in Hispanic folklore. La Llorona, which translates to "The Weeping Woman," is a mythical figure who is believed to haunt rivers and lakes, crying for her lost children. According to the legend, La Llorona was once a beautiful woman who fell in love and got married. However, her husband eventually left her for a younger woman, causing La Llorona to go into a state of madness and rage. In her fury, she drowned her children in a river as an act of revenge towards her unfaithful husband. After realizing what she had done, La Llorona was consumed by guilt and remorse.
