The 2018 growing season was a season of contrasts. The winter (2017) was very dry; June was the driest June on record. We followed our normal practice of pruning quite late to help avoid spring frosts at Koomooloo. As has been the case in the last decade, the seasonal patterns are showing quite a bit of variability – so the spring rains didn’t arrive until November/December. The season was warm and dry from January until harvest. The soils at Koomooloo are deep and have good water holding capacity, so even with low rainfall we still produced an excellent, balanced crop. Yields were moderate, with quality potential excellent. The fruit is from Block 5 at Koomooloo. It was cropped very low at about 3-4T per hectare. It was shoot thinned and twice bunch binned. Thirty percent whole bunch and the balance destemmed but not crushed. Then transferred to two-tonne open fermenters. The cap was plunged twice daily during fermentation until removed for pressing. Transferred to 67% new barrel, held for 20months before bottling.

Reviews for "The Future is Monkey Magic: What to Expect in 2018"

1. Jane Doe - 1 star
I was really disappointed with Monkey Magic 2018. The storyline felt rushed and poorly developed, with little regard for character development. The special effects were cheap and often took me out of the experience. Overall, it felt like a lazy attempt to cash in on the nostalgia of the original Monkey Magic series without actually putting in the effort to create something new and exciting. I would not recommend wasting your time on this disappointing revival.
2. John Smith - 2 stars
As a fan of the original Monkey Magic series, I was excited to see the 2018 version. Unfortunately, it fell short of my expectations. The acting was subpar, lacking the charm and charisma that made the original so beloved. The writing was uninspired, offering nothing new or interesting. Additionally, the choppy editing made it difficult to follow the plot and kept pulling me out of the story. I would advise fans of the original to skip this lackluster remake and stick to the original series for their Monkey Magic fix.
3. Samantha Johnson - 1 star
Monkey Magic 2018 was a complete waste of time. The script was poorly written, filled with cheesy dialogue and predictable plot twists. The acting was downright laughable, with wooden performances that lacked any depth or emotion. The fight scenes were poorly choreographed and lacked the excitement and intensity of the original series. Overall, Monkey Magic 2018 felt like a cheap and uninspired attempt to capitalize on nostalgia. Save yourself the disappointment and avoid this lackluster revival.
