Understanding the Symbolism in Midnight Magic Tarot

By admin

Midnight Magic Tarot is a deck of tarot cards that is specifically designed for nighttime readings and rituals. This deck is characterized by its beautiful, mystical artwork, which combines elements of darkness and mystery with a touch of whimsy. The cards feature richly detailed illustrations of various tarot symbols and archetypes, creating a sense of enchantment and intrigue. One of the unique aspects of the Midnight Magic Tarot is its focus on the moon and its phases. Each card is linked to a specific phase of the moon, which adds an additional layer of depth and symbolism to the readings. This connection to the moon allows for a deeper exploration of the subconscious and the hidden aspects of our lives.

These ethereal illustrations were created by Eisner Award–nominated artist and mushroom enthusiast Sara Richard whose art is inspired by the natural world and the trees and mushrooms she was surrounded by while growing up in New Hampshire. This deck is filled with magical artwork reflecting the hidden power, magic, and wonder of the woods. So whether you’re an avid mushroom hunter or you just want to add some earthy magic to your tarot card practice, this deck is for you.

Based on the symbolism of the Rider Waite deck, these cards depict traditional tarot archetypes through images of fungi, from the authoritative, red-capped Fly Agaric as the Emperor to the brightly colored Chicken of the Woods as the impetuous Fool and so much more. Her creations tend to skew into the macabre and unknown with a balance of sweetness and sentimentality, honoring the Victorian-era theme of Memento Mori.

Sara Richard is an Eisner and Ringo Award–nominated artist from New Hampshire. Her art is inspired by Art Nouveau, Art Deco, funerary imagery, and the natural world. When not making art or writing, she’s watching horror movies, cleaning forgotten gravestones with her mom, and collecting possibly haunted curiosities from the 19th century. Reviews for "The Healing Power of Midnight Magic Tarot"

1. John - 2 stars - I was really excited to try out the Midnight Magic Tarot deck after hearing so much praise about it, but I was ultimately disappointed. The artwork is simply not my style, with the illustrations feeling too dark and esoteric for my taste. Additionally, the deck lacks diversity in its imagery and symbolism, making it difficult for me to connect with the cards and find personal meaning in them. Overall, I was hoping for a more inclusive and uplifting tarot deck, so unfortunately, the Midnight Magic Tarot fell short for me.
2. Sarah - 1 star - I found the Midnight Magic Tarot to be incredibly confusing and unapproachable. The meanings of the cards were not clearly explained, making it difficult for someone new to tarot like myself to understand their significance. The accompanying guidebook was equally frustrating, as it provided vague and convoluted interpretations that didn't resonate with me at all. It's a shame because the artwork is stunning, but without proper guidance and clarity, I couldn't connect with this deck whatsoever.
3. Mark - 2 stars - As an experienced tarot reader, I found the Midnight Magic Tarot to be lacking in originality. The card meanings and symbolism felt like a rehash of commonly found themes in other tarot decks, offering nothing unique or innovative. The artwork may be visually appealing to some, but for me, it lacked the depth and complexity I look for in a tarot deck. Overall, I wouldn't recommend the Midnight Magic Tarot for anyone looking for a fresh and thought-provoking experience with their readings.
