The Session 2023
The Session is the UK's best magic convention. Full stop. It was started fifteen years ago, in Gloucestershire, by a bunch of friends simply trying to make the sort of convention they wanted to go to: a convention that wasn't too big, that actively encouraged sessioning, and a convention where the performers actually wanted to, and did, hang with the attendees.
In addition to its visually stunning artwork, Midnight Magic Tarot is also renowned for its insightful and empowering interpretations. Barbara Moore's companion book provides in-depth explanations and interpretations of each card, helping the reader to gain a deeper understanding of their meaning and significance. Moore's writing style is clear, concise, and informative, making the book accessible to both beginners and experienced readers alike.

- Jane - 1 star - I was very disappointed with "Midnight Magic Tarog". The plot was confusing and the characters were underdeveloped. It felt like the author didn't know where they were going with the story and just threw in random elements to try and make it more interesting. I couldn't connect with any of the characters and found myself bored throughout most of the book. Overall, I would not recommend this book to anyone looking for a captivating and well-written fantasy novel.

The pacing was uneven, with long stretches of nothing happening followed by rushed and confusing action scenes. The world-building was also lacking, leaving me with many unanswered questions about the setting and magic system. Additionally, the dialogue felt forced and unnatural, making it difficult to become emotionally invested in the story. While the concept had potential, the execution left much to be desired.
