Parton's Deli is under new ownership. The new owners are local and have 3 other restaurants in Gatlinburg; Crystelle Creek , Smoky Mountain Trout House, Underdogs Pizza a hotel Zoders Inn .

As you come into town, if you look closely between Hillbilly Golf and the Gatlinburg Mountain Coaster, you’ll see an old building that looks like a gabled breadbox. That’s Parton’s Deli.
Henry Parton opened the deli with his 18-year-old son, Dennis, in August of ’74, right after Dennis graduated high school. They ran the place together for 36 years, but for the last nine years, Dennis has worked alone — no employees, just Dennis.
Amid the chaos of the holiday weekend, the quiet of Parton’s Deli at 4 p.m. feels like an oasis, if one was to find an oasis in a grandmother’s wood-paneled basement. A shelf along one wall holds an array of potato chips surrounded by vintage soda bottles, signed baseballs, signed Dolly Parton photos (no relation), antique bee smokers, Costco-sized barrels of mayo and pickles, decorative baskets, Hornets’ nests and gourd birdhouses, decorate the top of the Coke coolers. Hanging on the walls, there at least four clocks, three of which are working but read different times, and five ball caps, two of which are UT orange. Dennis is a huge UT fan and almost always wore UT orange shirts.

I was extremely disappointed with my experience at Matic Gourd Restaurant. First of all, their menu was very limited and didn't offer a wide variety of options. Secondly, the quality of the food was below average. I ordered the grilled chicken, and it was dry and lacked any flavor. The portion size was also quite small for the price. Lastly, the service was very slow and unattentive. It took forever for our food to arrive, and we had to constantly ask for refills on our drinks. Overall, I wouldn't recommend dining at Matic Gourd if you're looking for a satisfying and enjoyable meal.

My experience at Matic Gourd Restaurant was nothing short of a disaster. The menu was confusing and poorly organized, making it difficult to find something that appealed to my taste. After finally deciding on a dish, I was extremely disappointed with the portion size. It was ridiculously small for the price I paid. Not only that, but the presentation of the food was lackluster, and it tasted mediocre at best. On top of all that, the service was terrible. The waitstaff seemed uninterested and inattentive, and it took forever to get our food. Save yourself the disappointment and find another place to eat.

The dishes we ordered lacked flavor, and the portion sizes were underwhelming. The service was also subpar, with slow and inattentive waitstaff. Overall, I wouldn't go back to Matic Gourd, as there are much better dining options available in the area.
