It means being constantly aware of the presence of magic in one's life and considering it an essential part of one's existence. Those who are married to magic often find solace, wisdom, and inspiration in their relationship with the supernatural. One of the defining characteristics of being married to magic is the belief that magic is not just an external force but something that resides within oneself.

Review:

Kova notes that Married to Magic is a world not a series, making each book a complete story but giving us glimpses of other parts of the magical world of Midscape. Book one features, you guessed it, elves, but expect a dash of fae (and it sounds like that will get explored more in the next book).

I adored Luella. She was a great character. She had plans for her life and they were interrupted, and while she was certainly able to roll with the punches, she was always looking for that little piece of life and happiness to call her own. It made for compelling motivation, especially as she re-evaluated what that little piece of life and happiness could look like.

The Human Queen has a powerful counterbalance to the Elf King’s magic. Luella has to learn how to use it, since it’s been hidden from her for most of her life, but her power is meant to save both the mortal world and Midscape, it is part of the reason for the existence of the Human Queens.

This is one of those great books of magical counterbalance, fire and ice between Luella and Eldas or the balance of inverse seasons between Midscape and the mortal world. I love the imagery that it creates.

I was hooked right away, a cozy standalone fantasy romance with lots of potential to explore more stories in the world.

Other books in the series:

  • A Dance with the Fae Prince (Married to Magic #2)
  • A Duel With The Vampire Lord (Married to Magic #3)
  • A Duet with the Siren Duke (Married to Magic #4)
The elves come for two things: war and wives. In both cases, they come for death.
Marrird to magic

It is the understanding that each individual possesses their own unique magical abilities and that tapping into these abilities can bring about personal growth and transformation. When one is married to magic, they constantly seek to unlock their inner powers and use them to manifest their desires and create positive change in their lives. Being married to magic also implies a deep sense of responsibility towards the mystical realm. Those who have embraced magic as a lifelong partner often devote themselves to its study and practice, seeking to understand its mysteries and respect its power. They may engage in rituals, spells, and other forms of magical practices to connect with the spiritual realm and harness its energy for their own benefit and the benefit of others. However, being married to magic is not without its challenges. Like any relationship, it requires effort, commitment, and a willingness to navigate the complexities of the mystical realm. It can be tempting to abuse the power of magic or become obsessed with obtaining more power, which can lead to negative consequences. Therefore, those who are married to magic must also learn to balance their desires and intentions with a sense of ethical conduct and respect for the natural order of things. In conclusion, being married to magic is a profound and transformative experience. It involves developing a deep relationship with the mystical forces of the universe, harnessing one's own magical abilities, and respecting and understanding the power of magic. It requires dedication, responsibility, and a constant desire to grow and evolve. Ultimately, those who are married to magic find themselves on a lifelong journey of self-discovery, wisdom, and the pursuit of the extraordinary..
